Ms. Yvonne Elaine Payne

Ms. Yvonne Elaine Payne entered this world on July 30, 1953, in Decatur, Georgia, born to the late Mr. Tom Payne Sr. and Mrs. Bennie Mae Payne. She was the eldest of six children born to this loving union, and from the very beginning, Elaine carried a spirit filled with warmth, joy, and a deep love for family. At an early age, Elaine developed a relationship with Jehovah and became connected with the Kingdom Hall. Her faith remained an important source of strength throughout her life, carrying her through seasons of joy as well as times of difficulty. As the daughter of a military father, Elaine had the opportunity to travel and experience different parts of the world during her childhood. Those experiences helped shape the vibrant and outgoing woman her family and friends came to know and love. In 1969, the Payne family returned to Georgia, where Elaine continued her education and later graduated from Turner High School. After graduation, she attended Job Corps in Atlanta, Georgia. Elaine went on to build a career as a data entry clerk, working for several insurance companies, including Prudential Insurance and Atlanta Casualty. She approached her work with dedication and took pride in caring for herself and her family. But Elaine was so much more than the work she performed. She was a woman who knew how to enjoy life. She loved to dance, sing, laugh, fellowship, and create memories with the people she loved most. Her presence brought warmth to those around her, and she treasured the simple moments that often became life’s greatest memories. Like all of us, Elaine experienced trials, challenges, and difficult seasons. Yet through it all, she continued seeking spiritual strength and remained grounded in her faith. Her trust in Jehovah God became a source of comfort, peace, and perseverance. In 2010, Elaine began another meaningful chapter in her spiritual journey under the leadership of Apostle Anthony and Elder Tresha Banks at Changed for Life Outreach. That season of spiritual growth ultimately led her back home to the Kingdom Hall, where she continued rebuilding and strengthening her relationship with Jehovah. During the final years of her life, Elaine experienced a beautiful renewal. She developed a new appreciation for life, faith, family, and the relationships that mattered most. She intentionally worked to reconnect with Jehovah, strengthen bonds with family and friends, and embrace the love surrounding her. She found joy in conversations about the Bible, going out to eat, playing games on her phone, and enjoying peaceful moments with those closest to her. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, and family. Those moments became treasured gifts memories that will now live forever in the hearts of everyone who loved her. Her Loving Legacy Elaine leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love and cherished memories with her significant other, Quentin Eubanks; her daughters, Anganette “Angie” Jackson; Antoninette “Toni” Brantley (Tellys); Anquinchetta “Peavy” Terry; and Antomalynette “Tootie” Terry; her sister, Faye Hickman (Danny); and her brothers, Gregory Payne (Sharon), Gilbert Payne (Annette), and Joseph Payne. Her loving memory will also remain with her grandchildren: Christopher, Charakeyia, and Cortez Jackson; Keyanda, Keyonna, and Tomeesha Johnson; Adrianna, Tellys Jr., Teliya, and Tellys III Brantley; Mel’Ondria, Melonie, and Dae’Monica Davis; Antrevious Smith; Demekius Jr. and JaMycal Richardson; Madison, Megan, Mason, Morgan, Moriah, Makenzie, Melanie, and Makayla Brown; and Ashuntis Gresham. Elaine’s love will continue through a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who were blessed to share in her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Tom Payne Sr. and Bennie Mae Payne; her brother, Tom Payne Jr.; her son, Lar’Mel “Mel” Davis; and her grandson, Craig “De’Marco” Jackson. Though our hearts are heavy because we can no longer see her smile, hear her laughter, or sit beside her in conversation, we are comforted by the many beautiful memories Elaine left behind. Her life was filled with chapters of joy, perseverance, faith, growth, and love. She experienced life’s highs and lows, but she continued moving forward, continued loving, and continued finding her way back to the faith that gave her strength. Her love will remain. Her laughter will be remembered. Her legacy will continue. And her memory will forever be cherished.
