Wilfred Henry Jeffers

Wilfred Henry Jeffers, was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was born on September 28, 1941, in Georgetown, Guyana, to Joseph and Aguata (Mars) Jeffers. Wilfred On October 8th 2023, he peacefully returned to his Lord and Savior, was eighty-two years old and dedicated his life to his family. Wilfred was a kind and gentle soul with a heart of gold. He was an altar boy in his youth and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was an able seaman, starting his career at the young age of sixteen in 1957 as a deckhand for MV Caraney shipping company in Guyana. He then began to sail the high seas with the Harrison Line company, traveling from country to country. After leaving Guyana, Wilfred spent most of his adult years in Brooklyn, New York, before moving to Covington, Georgia. He was an avid reader, a staunch boxing fan, and made sure he saw all the current boxing matches. Wilfred enjoyed sharing his stories and adventures from sailing the seas. He also had a passion for music and dancing. He was a natural on the dance floor and could often be found playing his favorite tunes on his stereo system while enjoying his time with family. Wilfred was preceded in death by Grandmother Racheal Hector; sisters, Vita and Mirlyn; and his brother, Winston Jeffers. Wilfred was a devoted family man and leaves to mourn him: his wife, Joan Ingrid (Killikelly) Jeffers; daughters, Cecilia and Shenida Jeffers, Sharon and Simon Meusa; sons, Gary and Bucks Meusa; he was a beloved grandfather to Dwane and Dexter Austin, Shemika Meusa, and many many more; he was a cherished brother to Mrs. Erlyne Adina Miller and Joyce Jeffers; and uncle to a host of nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Celebration of Life Services for Wilfred Henry Jeffers will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 1:00PM. These services will be recorded and streamed live.
