Ms. Sherivah Shonte Lewis

On January 10, 1978, a beautiful and unique rose was introduced in the garden of Rosalyn Dawson and Kerry Lewis, and she was named Sherivah Shonte. Sherivah was born in Waco, TX and at the age of 7, she moved to Richardson, TX. She attended school in Richardson and was a 1996 graduate of Richardson High School. Sherivah continued her education at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcus, TX, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy in 2000, and in 2002 she received her Master of Education Degree. Sherivah was baptized at the age of 5 at Antioch Baptist Church in Waco, Texas. Over 10 years ago, she renewed and rededicated her life to Christ and continued to maintain a strong and faithful relationship with the Lord. Sherivah followed in her maternal grandparents’ footsteps as an educator. She taught in the Marion County School District in Florida for 2 years before moving to Georgia and has been employed by Gwinnett County Public School District as a teacher for the past 17 years. One of the greatest gifts Sherivah possessed was motherhood. She was a loving and hardworking mother who never ceased to provide for her daughters. Sherivah was a very caring and devoted mother who always gave her two girls her untiring and undivided attention. Sherivah’s daughters were very involved in many activities including Chorus, Cheerleading, Cooking Club, Gymnastics, and Dance. Sherivah never missed any event in their lives because she was a very proud mother and she enjoyed watching them exhibit their talents. Sherivah was always doing what she did best…being a Mom. Sherivah’s season came to an end on December 6, 2022, and God uprooted this beautiful rose from her earthly garden. Sherivah is now in heaven’s garden with her maternal grandparents, Vernell and Maurice Dawson; her paternal grandparents: Billy and Viola Lewis; her Aunts Cheryle Dawson Kennedy and Virginia Jackson and her Uncle Kenneth Jackson. In Sherivah’s garden, these flowers remain and remember her unique fragrance: Her 2 beautiful daughters: Ava Nichole Lewis and Addison Noel Lovejoy; her daughters’ loving father: Reginald Lovejoy; her devoted Mother: Rosalyn Dawson Lewis of Waco, TX; her Father: Kerry (Stella) Lewis of Temple, TX; her daughters’ adoring grandmother: Gwendolyn Lovejoy; her sister: Tamara Lewis; her Cousins who were like her Brothers and Sisters: Paul Phillips, Jeremy Kennedy, Tamara Parnell, Chervondria Kennedy, Brian Kennedy, and Veronica Lair, her Aunts: Sylvia Dawson-Lair, Charlene Hornsby, Billy Faye Lewis, her Uncles: Duncan Lewis, William Lewis, Larry Jackson, and numerous other loving cousins and friends. Celebration of Life Services for Sherivah S. Lewis will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 1:00 PM. These services will be recorded and streamed live.
