Ronda Benjamin, 61, of Lithonia, GA passed on Friday December 2, 2022. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Sunday December 18, 12 NOON, Atlanta Maranatha Seven-Day Adventist Atlanta, GA. Ronda Jean Benjamin was born in Columbus, Ohio on Tuesday, May 16, 1961 to the late Ronale Jones Sr. and the late Eleanor Jones. She graduated Brookhaven High School in 1979. She moved to Georgia and enrolled in Armstrong State College, in Savannah, Georgia, and graduated in 1983 with an Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene. She made metro Atlanta her home and worked in various dental offices for over 25 years. Ronda became a member of Maranatha Seventh-day Church in 1999. Ronda was an extremely helpful person who cared about her community and neighbors; she consistently extended herself, often past her breaking point, to ensure that others were taken care of. Ronda never met a stranger and easily made friends. Ronda’s thoughtfulness and generosity made it easy to connect with her; she had a unique way of drawing people into friendship. Ronda was an avid movie lover and would often quote lines and sing songs from her favorite musicals to friends and family; then she would quiz us on which movie it came from and the character who said it. She had a vast collection of VHS tapes and DVDs from different eras, which she enjoyed viewing. Ronda loved to read materials ranging from the Bible to novels after retirement. Ronda discovered a lump in her breast in 2009, and from there she waged a determined and courageous twelve year off and on battle with breast cancer. Ronda sadly lost her fight with cancer on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 10am; she would rest easy, surrounded by her husband, son, daughter, brother and pastors. Ronda is survived by her husband, Trevor A. Benjamin; son, Edward Briggs III; daughter, Ericka Benjamin; brother, Ronale Jones Jr.; brothers-in-law, Jamaal Bryant and Michael Benjamin Sr.; sisters-in-law, Becky Jones, Melissa Bryant, and Deirdre Owens Benjamin; former sister-in-law, Gail Jones; a host of nieces and nephews; cousins, especially, Debbie Ragland; aunts and uncles; numerous friends, including Sonya Lampkin whom she shared a 40 year long friendship.
