Rogers Clay

ROGERS CLAY, son of the late Cassie and Curtis Lee Clay, Sr. was born December 4th, 1950, in Terrell County, GA. At a very early age he confessed his love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and joined Mt. Mary Baptist Church, Terrell County, GA. Rogers was also known to quote bible scriptures and thoroughly understood the bible more than the average person. He attended the public schools of Terrell County and secondary school at Albany State College in Albany GA under the Upward Bound program. He later moved to Atlanta GA where he worked many years as a construction worker to provide for himself and then wife, Violet Jeanette Clay and kids. After becoming ill with lung problems in 2007, Rogers was placed on disability where he then retired from Fork lift driving. In 2015, Rogers was diagnosed with cancer and fought the battle like a king. He has now transcended to the lord as of Sunday, December 4th, 2016, which was also his birthday. He was loved by his family and leaves behind two adult kids, daughter Taffee Clay Tyson and son Roger Detravis Clay, two grandkids, Nikia Clay and Kiana Mills, 2 great grandkids, Ion Jackson and Charlee Jones who all loved him very much. He is also survived by siblings, two sisters, Mary Huie and Mattie Renfroe, Atlanta GA and one brother, Curtis Clay, Jr., Atlanta GA., 2 sisters-in-law, Lula Clay, Dawson GA, Nervie Clay, Atlanta GA and Bettie Sue Clay, Atlanta GA and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The LORD Is My Shepherd A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies, you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
