Martha Jean Richmond

Martha was born Martha Jean Daniel on October 15, 1952 in Lawrenceville GA to her parents Cliff and Thelma (Lowe) Daniel. Martha led a life filled with happiness and love, especially with and for her children, family, and friends. Martha grew up and graduate from Hooper Renwick Highschool in Lawrenceville, GA. At an early age Martha excepted Jesus Christ as her savior and united with Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she remained an active member until the failing of her health. She started her working career as the first Black Librarian in the Lawrenceville Public Library. She then went on to dedicate 20 years of service with Dolco Packaging Company. Later finished her career as a Bus Monitor to special needs children for Gwinnett County Schools until her health prevented further work. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother. She worked hard to provide for her family during difficult circumstances which did not afford her the abundance of time she would liked to have spent with her children. She was very proud of all of them. Her love will continue to grow through the legacy of her family. She Departed this life on Monday, August 27th, 2018. Mrs. Richmond leaves behind her husband William Richmond; children, Selena Harris, Thomas Harris Jr. (Tonia), Bryant Harris (Desiree), and YoRhonda Matthews; siblings, Thelma Ruth Yarbough and the late Ernest Yarbough Jr., Fred Daniel (Elaine), the late Ruby Nell and William Maxey, the late Timothy Daniel, Dennis Daniel (Deborah), Frankie Daniel (Vivian), Donald Daniel, Dwight Daniel; grandchildren, Darius Harris, Bryant Harris, Kiera Harris, Tiera Harris, Demi Harris, Rosny Wilson, Clinton Harris, Kellen Harris, Joshua Matthews, Ja’Kyra Haley, Giavante Haley, Jaylin Matthews, Jayvion Matthews, JaKari Matthews; One great grandchild, Bryson Harris and a host of loving family and friends. Homegoing services for Ms. Martha Jean Richmond of Lawrenceville, GA will be held Friday, August 31, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Home GWINNETT Chapel, 914 Scenic Hwy. Lawrenceville, GA 30045. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Family Hour from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gregory B.
