Obituary Linda Maria Plummer She fought a good fight; she kept the faith, and her beautiful wings were gained. During the early morning hours of Thursday, September 19, 2024, the late Linda Maria Plummer entered eternal rest surrounded by her loving and devoted immediate family at Emory University Hospital. Linda M. Plummer was a native of Savannah, Georgia, the first child born of the late Presiding Elder Robert L. and Charlestee L. Plummer. She was born on November 11, 1948. She attended the public schools of Chatham County later matriculating at Savannah State University-then Savannah State College - obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Biology and a Master of Science degree from Nova Southeastern University with a concentration in Instructional Leadership. In addition, she specialized in Brain-Based Learning. A visionary leader and licensed educator with extensive experience instructing students, securing needed resources and implementing programs, Linda’s background includes the implementation of instructional and school leadership initiatives for grades K-12 with a concentration in classroom analytics and performance applications to increase aptitude and test scores during her over twenty-year tenure with the Clayton County School System. Linda was a nominee of the “Teacher of Promise” Award; Coordinator of Southeastern Consortium for Minorities in Engineering; and First Science Olympiad Middle School Competition Coach in Clayton County. Linda’s entrepreneurial spirit was evident in her passion for exploring opportunities to become independently wealthy as evidenced in her business pursuits including a certification in Estate Planning(CEP) and an insurance agent with Investment Life. She found joy in traveling, baking, and the Arts and Science which is reflected in her coordinating trips and activities with family and friends. She received a certificate for an educational tour of the Holy Land and Egypt. Linda is preceded in death by her father, the late Presiding Elder Robert Plummer and her mother, Charlestee W. Plummer. She leaves to cherish her memories her sisters: Sharon L. Plummer and Carol P. Gordon (Fred) Birth Daughter: Sharon Simpson (Al) granddaughter, Madison; special nieces and nephews Faith Unice Gordon, Angel Gordon Smith (Kevin), Adam Coleman Gordon (Jacque) and Bruce L. Perkin, Jr, (Jamila) and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
