Leslie Renee' Smoot

Leslie Renée Smoot was born July 24, 1961, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina to the late Janice and Herbert Mason. She was one of five children. She attended St. Paul Central High school and Concordia College in St. Paul, MN., before moving to New Orleans, LA. She married Stephen Wayne Smoot on July 23, 1989. She raised three children, including Stephanie and Lynette Smoot. The loving couple have been married 33 years. They have known each other for 40 years. The two formed a friendship and strong loving bond through meeting by chance in the city of New Orleans. She was a dedicated employee with DCI, Incorporated for 20 plus years where she held the position of Patient Care Technician, and retired in 2018. After hurricane Katrina destroyed the home Leslie built with Stephen on August 29, 2005, Leslie and her family relocated to Georgia with the dream of rebuilding and purchasing a new home. In 2019, Leslie finally fulfilled that dream of resettling her family and purchasing her dream family home. Leslie loved jazz, her family, and had very classy and unique fashion sense. She also loved cooking for her family, traveling, attending live concerts, and interior decorating and family events. Her favorite color was pink. She enjoyed eating good food, and enjoying her loved ones company as often as possible. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone in need. She was a Phenomenal woman according to her husband, and many friends and family. Leslie departed this earthly life on Wednesday, August 17, 2022.
