Jeffery A. Jackson

Jeffery Antone Jackson, most commonly known as “Jeff or Lips” by family and “Never or Clever” by close friends and classmates was born October 17, 1956 in Terre Haute, Indiana to the late Ms. Cleo Malone and Mr. Ira Jackson. In his youth, Jeffery discovered his passion for sports where he played for several local football, basketball and baseball teams before joining the basketball team at Indiana State Laboratory High School. Upon graduating from high school in 1975, Jeffery was recognized for his many scholastic achievements and granted admission into the esteemed Upward Bound program. It was during this time, where he learned of higher education opportunities ultimately leading him to Tuskegee Institute (now University) in 1976. While attending Tuskegee, Jeffery made many lifelong connections, which included meeting his Wife, Anita Louise Jackson of 27 years. After a brief period of living in Oklahoma to pursue a business opportunity, Jeffery moved to Atlanta where he established roots. Full of energetic and infectious spirit and boundless conversation regarding any subject matter, Jeffery enjoyed attending any event that encouraged fellowship, which always yielded a new friendship. He prided himself on being self-employed in the Insurance industry for over 30 years. Jeffery found comfort and security in the tradition of Christian faith and was a member of Popular Springs Baptist Church in Ellenwood, GA. On January 19, 2020, he answered the call to enter eternal rest. Jeffery leaves to cherish his loving memory: three daughters, India Nicole Jackson (Larry) and Ashley Joi Jackson (Terrell) in Atlanta, GA and Asia Renee Jackson in Indianapolis, IN; one son, Codi Evans (LaKendra) in Terre Haute, IN; four sisters, Letricia Greenwade in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Shirl Morris and Chiquita Perry in Terre Haute, IN, Rosetta Taylor in Atlanta, GA ; four brothers, Michael Worrell in Pomona, CA, Darrell Perry in Land O’ Lakes, FL, Ronald Perry and Brock Hudson in Terre Haute, IN; eight grandchildren, Malcolm Jaffe, Armondo Blakely, DeShon Blakely, Michael Evans, Canaan Evans, Niree Evans, Mariah Cornelius, and Noah Cornelius; one great-grandchild, Anthony Blakely; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
