Celebration of Life service for Mr. James Harris, Jr. age 47, will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, November 3, 2019 at our SOUTH DEKALB CHAPEL . Final resting place Hillandale Memorial Gardens 6201 Hillandale Drive Lithonia, GA 30058. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2019 from 9AM-5PM at our SOUTH DEKALB CHAPEL. James Harris Jr., known to many as Jay Jay or simply Big Jay, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to so many. James was born March 1,1972 in Harlem, New York to James Harris Sr. and the late Annie Harris. James aka Big Jay the perfect name for a guy that was not only big in stature, but who loved everything big and had the biggest heart. Jay Jay spent some of his childhood in North Carolina with his Aunt Mable, and his teenage and adult life in Harlem, New York. On October 26,1995, Jay met his wife and started on a new journey in life. Together they loved and raised to beautiful children. Their journey continued as he relocated his family to Lithonia GA, in 2008. Jay had big dreams to conquer the world but most importantly he wanted to take over Atlanta, by creating his own Armed Security Service. With hard work and as he would say “Get on his grind and hustle”, he created great opportunities for himself as well as many others. Jay loved and was very passionate about his line of work and did well to provide for his family. If you knew Big Jay, you knew that he always had good intentions and had a great love for fried chicken. Jay always wanted to know and would ask if you were “Good” and if you weren’t he would say, “Ok, I Got You”. Jay had a gift of gab, and always had a story to tell, he was a jokester, and a prankster and would keep you laughing. Overall Big Jay was a good dude and will be missed. James passed away in the presence of the Lord on October 26,2019. He leaves behind his wife Cherron, two children Katrell Javon and J’Lah Sanaa, Grand daughter Zara and her mother Zahnia, his father James Harris Sr., Stepmother Ernestine, Father and Mother in law Ralph and Paulette Defares, three Aunts, Mable, Madeline and Kellie, two Uncles, Derek and Rodney. Three aunts Mable, Madeline and Kellie, four sisters Diane, Linda (Brother in-law Enrico), Debra and Regina , two step brothers Daryl and Arthur, two step sisters Michelle and Amy and his best friend Jerome aka “Crip”, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Annie Harris, Brother Douglas, and Step Sister Holly
