Mr. Harold McClain

Mr. Harold McClain 62, of Stone Mountain GA passed away on April 21, 2018. My daddy, affectionately known as Whip, Uncle Hairow and Pops was the first born to the late Joseph and Isabell McClain on December 9, 1955 in Atlanta Georgia. He received his education in Atlanta Public Schools. After graduating from Murphy High School, he joined the United States Army. He served his country for many years. After returning home, he gained employment with the Blue Circle Cement Company. On July 20, 1978, he was blessed with his one and only child, Kenese Baker. Harold was a man with a big heart and a giving spirit. He made friends very easy and he called his friends weekly to just check in and make sure everything was ok. He was also a man of many talents. He could fix just about anything put before him. He received calls almost daily from people needing things done. If you knew Harold then you know he believed in living his life to the fullest with the things and people that brought him joy and happiness. Harold may not have been a weekly church going man, but he loved the Lord with all his heart. He had morning devotion every day and his personal Sunday service with Larry Tinsley and communion at noon courtesy of Jumbo. On Saturday, April 21, 2018, Harold heard his final whistle……oooooooop! God’s whistle calling him home because He had work for him to do in Heaven. Harold was preceded in death by his sister, Phillis Pamela McClain. He leaves behind to cherish his life a daughter , Kenese McClain Baker, stepchildren Johnny Thornton and Maretta Ligon, two brothers Yoseph Anthony McClain ,Russell McClain(Belinda), four aunts Josephine McClain, MayFrancis McClain, Lavora Steen, Annie Ruth Sanders, a God sister Caroline Saffo (Lewis), and a host of nieces, nephews , family and friends that will miss him dearly. Services will be held on Friday May 4, 2018 at the South DeKalb Chapel of Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Visitation hours will be from 10 AM to 3 PM on Friday May 4, 2018.
