George Edwards Woods

George Edwards Woods was born May 24, 1952 in Trezevant, Tennessee to the union of Allen Lee and Tanzie Lee (Turner Woods) both of Trezevant, Tennessee. He received his education from Waukesha County Technical Institute in Waukesha, Wisconsin. George was a Veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Vietnam War. He was a retired employee of A O Smith/ R J Tower Cooperation (Milwaukee Wisconsin) for over (31) years of dedicated service, specializing in powerhouse operations, HVAC, chiller plants, boilers, fire protection, thermostats and control units. George relocated to Atlanta and began working for the Gwinnett Hospital System now known as Northside Hospital Gwinnett/Duluth where he spent the last 15 years in the engineering department as an equipment specialist. In his spare time, he was a "master chef" and enjoyed relaxing with Oreo and his favorite cup of coffee. He loved traveling and just the simple things made him happy. He was a respected leader in the community on and off the job that many people looked up to. Most importantly George accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age in Tennessee, becoming a member of Lutheran Church of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. George was a member of Praise Community Church in Lawrenceville Georgia where he served the Lord. He made his final transition from this earthly life into eternal rest on Monday, November 9, 2020. He was preceded in death by his mother, Tanzie Lee(Turner) Woods; Father Allen Lee Woods; Grandmother Kathleen(Brown)Cunningham, sister Susan (Woods)Robinson brother Randy Woods; niece Shelia Clayton and nephew Wilom Woods. Our beloved George leaves to cherish his memories; his loving wife Kelly Jones (Woods), his sons, Telly (LaShondra) Woods, Kevin(Shelley) Woods, stepsons; Jovonne, Justin, Jalen, Sam and Justin. Grandkids, Taylor Roy, Kevin Jr., Tyler, Tanner, and Marquis. Two sisters, Antoinette(Woods) Harris and Laticia Woods, two brothers Jackie (Pam) Woods and Winston Woods, brother in law Quentin (Andrea)Brown, mother-in-law Anita Brown, father-in-law Matthew Robinson, grandchildren; Marquis, Marissa and Tyler Woods; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and close friends including his precious Oreo Woods.
