Words From Donny All y’all here for me? Wait….Chill!! I know y’all sad, but I’m in Heaven! From my point of view, I’ve been elevated! Listen, while I tell my story. While it’s hard to say goodbye to those I love, I was blessed to have lived life to the fullest in nineteen short years. My journey began on a wintry afternoon in Lawrenceville, Georgia, February 12, 2003, at 3:19 pm. My parents, Donnie and Tamara Williams, were so happy that I had finally arrived. My maternal grandparents, Ulysses and Johnnie Nelson, and paternal grandparents, Leonard and Bernice Williams, were all happy for my entrance into this wonderful world. A little while after I was born, my parents dedicated me to the Lord with my godparents, Demetrius and Richelle Walker, by their side. From the moment I was born, my zest for life was apparent through my smile. At ten years old, I was baptized at Friendship Baptist Church, and I learned the importance of having God in my life. Throughout my years of schooling, I earned several academic and athletic awards and graduated from Dacula High School in 2021. Recently, I had just begun my sophomore year at Kennesaw State University, majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Forensics. As long as I can remember, sports were a huge part of my life. Credit my dad for that! He was my coach, my teacher, my mentor, my best friend. I was in every sport I thought I wanted to play from football, to lacrosse, to track, to cross country, to wrestling. I even earned my black belt in TaeKwondo. He trained and taught me everything I needed to know to be a good athlete and a strong man. I remember running uphill sprints in the driveway. He even bought cones to put in the backyard so I could do drills. Dad always told me, “Hard work outperforms talent when talent does not want to work hard.” He instilled core values of life and taught me to remain true to myself. I knew he had my back and wanted the best for me. Dad, I will always be your “little buddy.” “Go Canes!” As I matured into a young man, I was known for my kind spirit and calm demeanor. I’ve been described as having a generous heart, a good nature, and just a pleasure to be around. I was told I had a kilo-watt smile and infectious laugh that I want y’all to always remember. Since I’m on the subject of me, let me tell you that I was also a sharp dresser with designer style! My hair was always on point too! Credit my mama for my fantastic fashion sense! For as long as I can remember, I was her mini-size mannequin to style. Some of my friends might have even joked and called me, “bougie.” Wait…What!!! I’m the angel with the tightest fit and cleanest drip in heaven! Yessirr! Mama taught me so much about the art of carrying myself with grace and looking good at the same time. I know I could never go anywhere that her love could not reach me. She taught me that the favor of God was on my heart and to fly and soar into life. Be comforted in knowing that I am now flying and soaring with the angels. I will always be your “pumpkin pie.” My parents were so precious to me. It was always just the three of us. Friday night family time watching movies to Saturday morning breakfast with French toast and cheese eggs. No matter what game, event, or ceremony I was a part of, I knew my parents were in the crowd. They ingrained in me a strong work ethic, to have hands of service, and a charitable heart for others. The example my parents provided guided me through life. I’m their only child and they poured everything they had into me. My friends are truly the best! From before elementary school all the way to college, strong friendships were developed that had unbreakable bonds. We traveled together. The beach and mountains were two of our favorite places to go. We hung out together. We played sports together. We fished together. We laughed together. We cried together. Sometimes, we would just “kickback” at somebody’s house, listen to music, freestyle rap, video blog, watch sports, or play PlayStation. We were just together. That’s what friends do. Of course, we talked about everything, and I mean everything….You Knowww!!!! No matter what though, through everything we did together, I always “held my friends down.” Please remember the things that make you happy. Even things that might seem insignificant like eating Apple Jacks out of the box, licking all of the red stuff off your fingers when you eat Hot Fries, buying a frozen horchata from QT, eating Cookie Crisps with or without milk, going to Chipotle, my favorite restaurant, buying a Yoohoo chocolate milk, Sour Patch Kids’ Watermelon, eating ranch sunflower seeds, or ordering Hibachi chicken with carrots only. Take time to enjoy the little things and live life to the fullest I lived my best life!!!! To the most loving and supportive parents in the world, Donnie and Tamara Williams, please know that I loved you with my whole heart. Please love and take care of each other. You did a great job raising me. To my grandparents, Granddaddy, Mama J, Papi, and Nana, I appreciate the devotion and guidance that you provided. You showered me with love, compassion, squeeze hugs, and the knowledge that God was with me. The greatest gift that you gave me were your continuous prayers that kept me through the years. I was truly blessed to have grandparents like you. I love you. To my uncles, Tyrone (Desmona) and Jonard thank you for your support and for being a part of my life. To my aunt, Jonee (Lonnie), you were a positive influence on me my whole life. I remember all of the fun we had together. You told me to, “Do my best and God will do the rest.” The angel rock you gave me stayed with me all the time. You will always be my “Nae-Nae!” There are so many family, friends, and mentors that made an impact on my life. I appreciate each and everyone of you for being my village. There is no doubt in my mind that I was fiercely loved. Though my earthly time has come to an end, I encourage my family and friends to enjoy life. Love each other. Be kind to each other. Make each moment count. Life is truly a gift, and now it’s time for me to give it back. Find comfort in knowing that I am resting in the arms of Jesus, and He’s a really cool guy.
