Dennis Gene Pullins

Dennis Gene Pullins transitioned from this life on October 31, 2022 at the age of 62 years old. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 22, 1960 to Gene Raymond and Birdia Mae Redden Pullins. Dennis graduated from Arlington High School in Indianapolis. He was an astute student and enjoyed playing football, and he excelled in photography. He graduated from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. He was recruited by Honeywell after graduating from college. While working for Honeywell in Indianapolis, Dennis was given an opportunity to transfer to Atlanta, Georgia. While working for Honeywell in Atlanta, Dennis met Kennetha Lyn West. On June 8, 1999, Dennis and Kennetha were married in Maui, Hawaii. Their bond was strong, and their love genuine - together they built an easy life. After 35 years of service, Dennis retired from Honeywell. Those who knew Dennis knew he was a no-nonsense guy with a great sense of humor, and a heart of gold. Dennis would help anyone. If you ever needed to have a discussion and receive honest feedback, he would always make himself available – he served as counselor and confidant to many. Dennis was a technologist and could troubleshoot and navigate most issues with computers, networks, applications, technical devices, the Internet, etc. He also was a creative with an artistic eye for color and design. Dennis had many hobbies, among his favorites were photography, cooking, sports (football, basketball, golf, etc.) and board games. He loved to digitally restore old pictures, and served as photographer for many weddings and family gatherings. If you ever tasted his cooking, you knew you were fortunate! His culinary specialties included the perfect breakfast omelette, lasagna, smoked meats, and barbequed meats. In terms of sports, he enjoyed women’s sports the best – especially the WNBA because to quote him “They are better at the fundamentals of the game.” His favorite board game was chess, and he enjoyed teaching children how to master chess. Preceding Dennis in transition are his father Gene Raymond Pullins, and brother Charles Wardell Pullins. Dennis leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Kennetha Lyn West-Pullins; mother Birdia Mae Redden Pullins; brother Derek Gerome Pullins; niece Amanda Claire West; nephews Charles Stephen Douglas Pullins and John Alvin Cowley, Jr.; special cousins Diane Marie Pullins and Oluwasina Parker Afolabi, and a host of other beloved family members and friends.
