Clarence Foster

It is with profound sadness that we are here to celebrate the passing and life of Mr. Clarence Foster, who peacefully departed this world on July 21, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones, whom he cherished dearly. Born on August 14, 1953, in Union Springs, Alabama, as the youngest child of Arthur and Louisia Foster, who preceded him in death. Clarence was a man of many words, immense compassion, and unwavering loyalty, leaving a legacy of love that touched the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him. Affectionately known as Foster, to know Clarence was to love him; he had a way of making everyone feel included and special, whether it was through lending a hand, his comforting word, or acts of kindness that touched so many lives. Foster was known for his remarkable character: caring, humble, thoughtful and always putting others before himself. Whether in his professional career or personal relationships, he led with his heart, ensuring that everyone he encountered felt seen, valued and loved. After high school, he proudly served in the United States Army and married his high school sweetheart, Linda Foster. They shared two children, Angelita and Clarence Foster, Jr. After earning his Barbering Certification from the formerly known DeKalb Technical College, Foster went on to build a successful career in the Cosmetology Industry. He worked with the largest hair care distributors across the state, showcasing his dedication and expertise in the field. In 1985, he took his profession to the next level by opening the first of his chain salons, The Place of Perfection. His colleagues admired him for the ability to remain calm, cool, and collected in challenging situations, always approaching problems with a sense of resolve and fairness. Foster's ability to lead by example and knack for guiding and uplifting others made him a true inspiration. Beyond his work, Clarence was most proud of his relationships he cultivated in the community. He was devoted to encouraging and building young men and women of character in his family and neighborhood. His family meant everything to him, and he was the heartbeat of every gathering, offering support and wisdom to those who needed it the most. Family and friends will forever remember him for his outgoing and vibrant personality, gentle hugs, pats on the back, cheerful laughter, jokes, and simple joys he found in life, including those quiet moments with loved ones. Foster had a remarkable talent for bringing out the best in others and making them feel like they could conquer anything. Whether through a quick phone call, a visit, or a thoughtful gesture, he always showed up and let you know how much you mattered to him. If dependable were a person, it would have been him. His greatest happiness came from spreading love. His personal accomplishments were many, but were always marked by humility. He never sought recognition for the good he did. Foster did it because he cared and because he believed in leaving a positive impact and legacy of love. Although Clarence encountered challenges of his own, he never allowed them to diminish his spirit, determination, or fight in life. His signature smile and personality reflected his inward strength, outward confidence, and generosity that truly defined who he was as a man. He faced life's obstacles head-on on always believing that God, love, and perseverance were the keys to moving forward. Those closest to him admired the dignity, strength, and unwavering positivity with which he navigated life, no matter the circumstances. He is survived by his daughter, Angelita (Noel) Smith, Linda Foster, grandchildren: Prince Martin, Christopher Foster, Clarence Foster, Kenyatta Smith, and Zuri Foster, nephew Larry (Deborah) Cowans, cousins Masherry (Willie) Owens and Dr. Evelyn Smart, and brothers as well as numerouse nieces, nephews and coutless friends and loves ones who will continue to cherish the memories of the love. Though Clarence Foster is no longer with us in person, his spirit is overflowing with compassion, resilience and endless love that will continue to live on in all who knew him.
