Carolyn Frances Crawford

CAROLYN FRANCES was born on February 11, 1954, in Chattahoochee, Florida, to the proud parents Harry Lee Williams, Sr., and Christell Williams. She was raised in a loving, Christian home where faith, family, and service were foundational values. At an early age, Carolyn joined Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as a member of the youth choir and usher board. Carolyn attended Chattahoochee High School, where she made history by integrating the varsity cheerleading team and participating in numerous extracurricular activities. She graduated with honors in 1972 and went on to enroll at Florida A&M University (“FAMU”). While both students at FAMU, Carolyn met the love of her life, Patrick “Ricky” Crawford, on February 7, 1973. She earned her degree in accounting, and the two united in holy matrimony on June 28, 1975, at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Following their marriage, Carolyn and Patrick relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where Carolyn began a distinguished career with the Coca-Cola Company. Through years of dedication and excellence, she rose to the position of manager in the finance department before retiring. Together, Carolyn and Patrick built a loving family, welcoming their first son, Jamel, on February 18, 1982, and their youngest son, Omari, on March 10, 1986. As a wife and mother, Carolyn was a constant source of encouragement, wisdom, and unwavering support. She took great pride in her family and was delighted in being actively involved in the lives and accomplishments of her husband and sons. Family was always her highest priority, and her love was deep, selfless, and enduring. Carolyn had a genuine passion for people. Her warm smile, joyful spirit, and captivating personality made everyone, strangers and friends alike, feel welcomed and at ease. She loved to cook and frequently opened the kitchen table to family and friends, sharing meals, laughter, and fellowship. Known for her kindness and generosity, Carolyn was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She maintained close connections with loved ones, faithfully remembering birthdays and milestones, and regularly volunteered at her church and her sons’ schools. She also enjoyed working out with her husband at the local YMCA, traveling, and spending time visiting family. Carolyn’s legacy is one of compassion, diplomacy, faith, hard work, and resilience. She will be remembered for her wisdom, her gentle spirit, and the joy she brought into the lives of all who knew her. Though she has departed this life, her memory and influence will live forever in the hearts of those who loved her. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Harry Lee Williams, Sr., and her brother, Harry Lee Williams, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 50 years, Patrick “Ricky” Crawford; beloved sons, Jamel (Kia) Crawford and Omari Crawford; mother, Christell Williams; sisters, Pastor Ann Williams, Cynthia McBride (Donald), and Harriett Williams (Dallas); along with a loving host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
