Carlton Baldwin Sr.

“Grand High Exalted Mystic Ruler Your Kingship Sir” Carlton P. Baldwin Sr. was ahead of his time. He cherished the good old days and kept it alive. He was a proud person. Carlton was born and raised in Harlem, New York. He played instruments and sports when he was younger. He enjoyed cowboy, horror, mafia, and war movies. He loved to listen to Motown records, Barry White, Commodores, Temptations, and even the 80s and 90s rap music. He is a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. When Carlton met his wife Wendy Baldwin, of 40 years, he was a Community Director in the South Bronx. He then relocated to Yonkers, New York to raise his family. He worked for The Federal Armored Truck Company in NYC as well as an Elite Bodyguard for many celebrities and wealthy people. Him and his family relocated to Atlanta in 2005 and it was a challenging transition. Years later, he retired as a Federal armed Security Officer at CDC in Atlanta. Mr. Baldwin was a “Protector”. He would teach others how to secure their careers, health benefits, family/household, respect, and prayers. Carlton was a great son, brother, cousin, husband, father, grandfather, and soon-to-be great grandfather, and friend. He was everyone’s “Uncle”. He took care of anyone he knew and made sure everyone had something to eat. He protected his family and friends no matter what. He will be truly missed by everyone and his community. He made friends everywhere he went. He always wanted to make you laugh and catch up on the latest movie. He enjoyed food, seafood, and always encouraged someone to cook otherwise he was in the kitchen whipping up his “Laylos”, which no one knows what it will be until it’s done. He had a joke for everything and he made sure you’d be laughing before the days over. He was a prankster. He loved family gatherings and enjoyed when everyone listened to his stories. Electronics such as stereo systems, TVs, cameras, alarms, and games interested him in creating his personal fort of security in his home, life and especially man cave. His heart was so big. Carlton wanted to see everyone happy and comfortable. He is well known as Dougie, Easy, Mr. B, Big Carlton, Grandpa, and Daddy aka “Grand High Exalted Mystic Ruler Your Kingship Sir”, which only his children would know him as! Carlton began his battle of Stage 4 lung cancer a few weeks after his late son passed away in August 2022. Although his health was at risk, he made sure to tell everyone how much he loves them. He knew his imperfections never outweighed his love for his family and friends. He continued to pray and draw closer to Jehovah and Jesus Christ. Carlton passed away on March 20, 2023, at his home in Lawrenceville, GA. His wife, children, and grandchildren were with him. His family loves him so much and appreciate the prayers they’ve received. Carlton was their strength. He taught them a lot and now his truth, words of encouragement, love, and prayers live on. Obituary: Carlton Pierre Baldwin Sr. is survived by his wife Wendy Baldwin and his mother Rosalind Baldwin; his brothers Kirk Baldwin, Shannon Baldwin, and Dru Baldwin, his sister-in-law Diana Bland, Elizabeth Baldwin; his children Kiyona, Shene’, Marquita, Nichelle, Domonique, Jazzmin, Chance; God Children Danesha, Bobby, Sean, Rejanee, Anthony, Johnathan, Christopher; grandchildren Eunique, Kameo, Kaitlyn, Kamya, Ava, Dior, Saniyah, Douglas Jr., Michael III., Naomi, Jahmel Jr., Mark Jr., Genesis, Simmone, Royal, Reign, Ari Rose, Royalty, and Lilah; son in laws Douglas Sr., Mark Sr., Michael Sr., Jahmel Sr., De’Sean. He was also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends. He is deceased by his father Carlton R. Baldwin, mother-in-law Cheryl Bland; his son Carlton P. Baldwin Jr., and many family and friends. Celebration of Life Services for Carlton Baldwin, Sr. will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 10:00 AM. These services will be recorded and streamed live.
