Beverly Ann Sims

Beverly Ann, affectionately called Ann was born October 14th ,1946 in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was the oldest of three children. Beverly’s parents , Rev. C.P Preston Sr. and Teaster B. Preston , taught her the values of love , respect, education , honor ,unity, peace ,righteousness and discipline and other aspects of life that are too numerous to mention. In the early 50’s , when Beverly’s father was called to pastor Peaceful Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Miami , Florida , she accepted Christ and was Baptized. Beverly was active in church . She became one of the first students to attend the newly organized Poinciana Park Elementary School in which the students and parents were included in choosing the name Poinciana Park . However Ann was allowed to spend time in Williston, Florida with her mother's sister Clara Reese as she was lead cheerleader and graduated from Williston High School in 1964. Beverly was an individual that was able to quickly adapt to her environment and make friends easily. She was gifted with natural talent. She was creative , intelligent , a peacemaker ,goal oriented , ambitious ,orderly, kind ,devoted and unselfish. Beverly married the love of her life, Mr. Alphonso Sims , who preceded her in death . She was blessed to be the mother of five lovely children : Michael , Terrance ,Fonda , Quintell and Wendell .
