Mrs. Barbara Jeanne Fitch

MRS. BARBARA JEANNE FITCH was born on September 8, 1940, to the late James and Beatrice Bazzell. She peacefully departed this life on February 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and grace that touched everyone who knew her. Barbara is lovingly survived by her husband of 67 years, Mr. Marvin Fitch; daughter, Karen Fitch; son, Michael Fitch; daughter in-law, Fleurette Fitch; and beloved granddaughter, Jordan Fitch. She is also cherished by a host of other relatives and friends who will forever remember her warmth, wisdom, and generous spirit. She was a proud graduate of Price High School in Atlanta, Georgia, and furthered her education at Morris Brown College where she continued to nurture her love of learning. At an early age, Barbara joined Flipper Temple A. M. E. Church where she faithfully served as a youth Sunday School teacher, guiding young hearts with patience and encouragement. Later in life, she became a devoted member of Clifton United Methodist Church in DeKalb County where she worshipped and served for more than 35 years. Her strong faith and dedication to her church community were central to her life. Barbara enjoyed many passions, including watching NFL football with her husband, Marvin—one of their favorite shared pastimes. She was also an avid reader of mystery novels, finding joy and comfort in the stories she explored. With a caring heart and strong work ethic, Barbara served the DeKalb County community as a school bus driver for 15 years. She also was a school bus instructor during this time. Barbara will be deeply missed by many and loved by all. Her beautiful spirit, loving heart, and joyful presence will continue to live on in the memories of those who were blessed to know her. Mrs. Barbara Jeanne Fitch, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Clifton United Methodist Church, located at 2918 Clifton Church Rd SE, Atlanta, GA 30316. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Public Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Homes -Scottdale Chapel.
