Ashley Joi Jackson-Johnson

Ashley Joi Jackson-Johnson was born on August 20, 1989, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Anita Bishop-Jackson and the late Jeffery Jackson. Ashley accepted Christ at an early age, became a member, and was baptized at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Ellenwood, Georgia. Ashley was a product of the Dekalb County school system, attending Stonemill Elementary, Cedar Grove Elementary, Cedar Grove Middle, and Cedar Grove High School. Not only was Ashley an honor student throughout her elementary, middle, and high school years, but she also participated in several extracurricular activities, including cheerleading, playing the violin in the orchestra, earning membership in the National Honor Society, and being an active member of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). She also achieved the honor of being crowned First Attendant for Miss Cedar Grove High School. Upon graduating from Cedar Grove High School in May 2007, Ashley was recognized for her many scholastic achievements and was admitted to Albany State University. While at Albany State University, Ashley continued to excel academically, earning membership in Delta Mu Delta National Honor Society, Alpha Kappa Mu National Honor Society, and Sigma Alpha Pi National Honor Society. She was also a member of the marketing club and was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in the spring of 2010. After her initiation, she was affectionately nicknamed “Jack” by her sorority sisters. Ashley graduated from Albany State University in December 2011, cum laude, with dual degrees in marketing and business management. After graduation, she joined the Georgia Natural Gas marketing team as a marketing specialist. Ashley quickly emerged as an exemplary employee and volunteered for various community causes within the company. Her dedication to service and giving back to the community was evident through her involvement in initiatives aimed at supporting seniors, participating in Earth Day recycling efforts, commemorating 9/11 Day, and providing assistance to Centennial Academy and Cristo Rey Jesuit High School. She was also actively engaged with the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) and numerous other charitable organizations. Ashley was known for her style, leadership skills, and her ability to “debate” on any topic. She was a free spirit who enjoyed traveling both domestically and internationally, visiting places such as France, Italy, Spain, and Dubai, just to name a few. She met and married the love of her life, Terrell Johnson, on December 31, 2018. They were blessed with two children, Parker Joi and Jackson Terrell, who were her pride and joy. On January 22, 2025, she answered the call to enter eternal rest. Ashley leaves to cherish her loving memory: her husband, Terrell Asbury Johnson, her daughter, Parker Joi Johnson, her son, Jackson Terrell Johnson, her mother, Anita Jackson (Vonzell), two sisters, India Nicole Jackson (Larry), Asia Renee Jackson, one brother, Codi Evans (LaKendra), a brother in law, Jeremy Johnson (Tiffani), a mother in law, Retta Johnson, a father in law, Terrell Johnson, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
