Yvonne Moreland Kight was born May 21, 1952. She is the 5th child born to Methard Moreland and Tena Brown Moreland. At the age of 69, the loving mother of two, and adoring wife to husband Tony Kight Sr., passed away on April 16th after a courageous battle with cancer. Yvonne received Christ at an early age at the Pine Tuckey Baptist Church in Carrollton, GA. She is currently a member of Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur, GA. After graduating from Mount Zion High School, Yvonne attended Carroll Technical School and West Georgia College prior to getting married in 1970 and moving to Athens, GA where she worked in accounting at Westinghouse Corporation for 12 years followed by GE Capital Corporation for 8 years. The last 22 years, she worked with ISGN Corporation in positions of product support engineer, supervisor, and manager. Her sense of accomplishment performing these roles fueled her desire to continue working well past retiring age. Yvonne’s great joy was buying and selling of collectibles with family. Over the past years she had “Kight Collectibles” booths in Carrollton, Douglasville, and Atlanta. Gardening with her son was also a hobby she highly enjoyed, especially when “Nunu” the cat decided to make the yard her home. She also loved to Karaoke and assist with organizing family functions for her mother during her lifetime. She was preceded in death by her mother, Tena Brown Moreland; father, Methard Moreland; brothers Samuel Moreland, Richard Moreland and Larry Moreland. She leaves to cherish her husband of 49 years, Tony L. Kight Sr.; two loving children son, Tony L. Kight Jr. and daughter Adina Britt Kight; granddaughter – Danielle Gardner-Kight; 3 brothers, Jackie (Rosemary), Tommy (Linda) and Michael (Barbara); aunt Marie Hutchins; uncle Robert Moreland and a host of close nieces, nephews, cousins and additional family and friends
