Thomas “BEBO” Leslie Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

It’s with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Mr. Thomas Leslie. Who departed this life on Tuesday July 12, 2022. Thomas "Bebo" Leslie was born to the late Clara and Jack Leslie on April 26,1945 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the 12th child of fourteen and the 7th son of eight. Mr. Thomas Leslie transitioned the morning of July 12, 2022. Thomas was a graduate of Luther Judson Price High School. He was a United States Army Veteran Paratrooper in the 509th Infantry Battalion in the Vietnam War, honorably discharged and received the National Defense Service Medal. Thomas worked for the United States Post Office and retired from Marta after 27 years of service as a bus operator. Thomas was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, dancing and playing cards with his club members. He was funny and a hero to his daughters and grandchildren. Thomas' friends and family knew him as "Bebo”, but others knew him as "T Leslie". Most importantly, God knows his name. Thomas' family rejoiced as they witnessed his profession of faith to Tiara, his granddaughter. Three sisters and six brothers preceded Thomas in death. He leaves to cherish his memory: his beautiful devoted wife of 36 years, Sandra Dawson Leslie; his two daughters and son-in-laws – Tonia Brown (Robert) and Nekeesha Harris (Timothy); his grandchildren - Robert Brown, III (Colleena), Timothy Harris, Jr, Ryan Thomas Brown and Captain Tiara M. Harris, stationed in South Korea; his siblings - Jack "Boolie" Leslie, Nora Wilcox (Mike), Bertha Jones and Joyce Jones; his niece/sister - Racine “Sue” Harden (Robert); his sister-in-law, Shirley Dawson of Augusta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1150 Westview Dr., SW., Atlanta, GA., 30310. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 12-8pm at our South Dekalb Chapel. Due to COVID-19, a mask will be required to enter our building.
