Kelli Michelle McGill Age 28 of Stone Mountain Georgia passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 due to complications of childbirth. Her Celebration of Life will be held on November 4, 2021 at 1 PM at Holiday Event’s Center-5370 Stone Mountain Highway Suite 1020, Stone Mountain, GA 30087. All guests are encouraged to wear CASUAL ATTIRE PLEASE! **SPACE IS LIMITED therefore the services will be LIVE STREAMED for your convenience here on our website at the LIVE STREAM tab.** This is an ADULT ONLY event and COVID Safety protocols will be followed. A “Go Fund Me” account has been established by three of Kelli’s closest friends, Nahsha Moss, Kealyn Westbury, and Leah Anderson to support her surviving children. Dr. Jerrie L. Bascome McGill. Kelli was born on November 28, 1992 to Craig LaMarr McGill and Denise Etienne Shackelford. Despite being born with severe health issues, Kelli lived her life to its fullest. During her short life, Kelli was an equestrian, a violinist and even played girls softball at Wade Walker Park. A lifelong Girl Scout, Kelli earned her Bronze, Silver, and Gold Girl Scout Awards via the Yellow Wildflowers Service Unit in Troop 26417 where her mother was her Leader. Kelli was also an active participant of the Delta GEMS Decatur Alumni Chapter Kelli was an avid traveler; exploring England, France, and Mexico. She attended the 2008 Inauguration of President Barack Obama in Washington DC as well as attended numerous Girl Scout trips across the country. Kelli was a 2011 graduate of Stephenson High School. She attended Albany State University, and continued her education by earning her Associates Degree from Bryant & Stratton in 2019. Kelli was pursuing completion of her Bachelors degree at the time of her passing. Kelli was an accomplished author who published her first book creating what was to be a series entitled “The Adventures of Korie.” This book was dedicated to her daughter Korie LaVaughn Crosby. Her book debuted in October of 2020- addressing inclusiveness of children and parents living with diversity; something she was well versed in as it mimicked her life. Kelli was an avid reader and a serious fan of anime. “Fruits Baskets” and “Inuyasha” were two of her Favorite Book series- Naruto, her favorite TV Series Kelli also leaves behind two beautiful children, Korie LaVaughn Crosby and Alixandir LaMarr Mikhal Crosby. In addition to her children she leaves behind parents Craig LaMarr McGill of Stone Mountain, Georgia and Denise Etienne Shackelford (David) of Carrollton, GA. Brother, Brandon A McGill (Kierra) of Nashville, TN. Paternal Grandfather, Charles “Bo Bo” McGill (Deborah) of Dayton, Ohio; Maternal Grandmother, Beatrice “Nana Bea” Etienne of Dayton Ohio; Uncles, Andre Etienne (Chanhl) of Vandalia, Ohio; Dr. Leslie Etienne (Tambra) of Indianapolis, Indiana. Aunts. Julia M. Granger (Mike) of Vallejo, California, and Florence Etienne of Duluth, Georgia. She also leaves behind beloved nephews, godchildren, and cousins. Kelli amassed a family village composed of friendships throughout her lifetime. There wasn’t a soul Kelli met that somehow did not become part of her diverse tribe. Kelli kept it as real as it came- and she embraced life in Positivity despite what she silently suffered internally.
