    David McFalls Sr.

    July 9, 1941 - April 24, 2022

David McFalls was born to the late Gaines McFalls and Thelma Tate on July 9, 1941, in Memphis, Texas. He departed this earthly life on Sunday, April 24th, 2022. David graduated from Morningside High School in Memphis, Texas and continued his education at Southwestern Christian College (SWCC) where he met his loving wife, Carol. He had a basketball scholarship offered to him from New Mexico State University, instead he chose to preach for the Wood Street Church of Christ in Vernon, Texas after graduating from SWCC. David and Carol became House Parents to the Coronado Children’s Home in Lubbock, Texas after leaving the Wood Street congregation. They were adventurous companions that went to Trinidad and Tobago for missionary work accompanied by their three children. After leaving Trinidad and Tobago, they went to Bahamas. As a preacher, he served several churches; among those were Thyatira, Mississippi and Klondike Church of Christ in Memphis Tennessee. He was the loving husband of Carol McFalls for 59 years. David leaves to cherish his memory, David McFalls, Jr. (Angela), Timothy McFalls, Sr. (Shelia), Elisabeth (Lisa) McFalls, and Judith (Judy) McFalls, eight grandchildren (of whom he was very proud) Candis, Timothy Jr., David III (Ashley), Daniel, Hannah, Alvin Jr., Joslyn and Christian, and one great grandchild, Kai David McFalls, sister, Lola Mae McFalls Richardson, brother, William Daniel McFalls, sister, Daisy Irene McFalls Sims, sister, Vera Lee McFalls and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. David was at true evangelist at heart. He loved being around people and he loved to sing. He once said, “I’ll sing opera—I’ve studied it—and I’ll sing for all churches that want me--- but what I really want is my degree in theology.” David was able to accomplish this dream. He was also a compassionate giver to many people, and it was not uncommon that he would give the shirt off of his back. His favorite song was “If I can help somebody”. In conclusion: Revelation 21:3-4 “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.’” Memorial Services will be held on May 7, 2022 at Hillcrest Church of Christ 1939 Snappfinger Rd , Decatur Georgia 30035 at 11:00 AM.
