    Daphne Thomas

    May 31, 1944 - April 11, 2022

Daphne Lenora Gayle-Thomas, born in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica WI on May 31st, 1944, passed away peacefully at Northside Hospital, Lawrenceville Georgia on April 11, 2022. Auntie Daphne, Ms. Daphne, Sis Thomas as she was affectionately known is the daughter of Lillian Christian. Daphne was God fearing, motivated and a success-driven woman. She was hard working and resilient in whatever challenges she faced. Her strong demeanor and sound character were bolstered by her passionate love for God and his kingdom. After being baptized and receiving the gift of the holy ghost, she devoted her life to service and enlarging his kingdom. Auntie Daphne was a woman of many passions who personified Proverbs 31. She was that woman who worked tirelessly to maintain the stability of her family. She covered her only daughter Glenna, stepchildren and everyone in her household not only with prayers but her everlasting love. She was a seamstress, an excellent cook and baker. Daphne also enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and entertaining; much to the dismay of many she almost never lost a domino game. Daphne Lenora Gayle-Thomas is survived by her daughter Glenna, son-in -law Christopher; grandson Christopher aka CJ; her mother Lillian Christian (101-year-old), and siblings: Hazel, Rupert, Jennifer, Devon, Deita, Rollin and Michael Christian; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and the village. She is predeceased by her husband Clement Thomas, siblings: Ena, Lenford and Elmore Christian. Daphne’s life will be celebrated on April 23rd, 2022, at Word Aflame Tabernacle, located at 1806 New Hope Road, Lawrenceville, GA, 30045. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM with the service following immediately after. She will be laid to rest at Eternal Hills Cemetery, located at 3594 Stone Mountain Hwy, Snellville, GA 30039.
