    Cotencie Maddox

    January 13, 1920 - January 31, 2022

    Mrs. Cotencie Gordon Maddox was born on January 13, 1920, to the late Mr. John & Maggie Gordon. She received her education in Gwinnett County School System. She will always be remembered for her kindness that she showed to others. She was a life time member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and served faithfully until her health declined. Cotencie loved the Lord, her church, her pastor and church family. She served as the Church Clerk for many of years, was a member of the Deaconess Ministry, and the Missionary Ministry. Sister Cotencie believed in studying the word of God and could be seen in Sunday School. Cotencie at an early age met and married the love her life Mr. Calvin Maddox and was blessed with raising their nephew James Dean Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Maddox, her parents Mr. John & Maggie Gordon, her five sisters; Beatrice Gordon, Petroleum Gordon Moore, Helen Gordon Harrison, Lillie Mae Gordon Billings & Mary Grace Gordon; her three brothers; Roy Gordon, Benjamin Gordon and Johnny Gordon; & her nephew; James Dean Moore. Cotencie leaves to cherish her loving memories, three lovely nieces Thelma Moore White of Decatur, Ga., Virginia Gordon of Dacula, Ga., & Barbara Harrison of Akron, Ohio. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
