Charlotte Marie Houston

Charlotte Marie Houston, 72, passed away on April 5, 2021. She was born on March 12, 1949, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Charlotte was predeceased by her parents Moses Canon and Bertha Johnson and four siblings. She was the youngest of 5 children. Charlotte graduated from Overbrook High School and attended the Burlington School of Music as an adult. She married Paul Houston, Sr on April 27, 1968. Paul and Charlotte’s union was blessed for over 53 years. Together they raised 3 children: Shawn Houston-Williams, Paul Houston, Jr., and Sergil Houston. She is survived by her husband, children, and the following relatives: Kenyatta Williams, Kasheem Williams, Kendrick Houston, Jaylon Harris, Alana Houston, Rayna Houston, Lauren Houston, Isabell Houston, Jessica Owens, Kailah Williams, Kahniya Williams, Jhanee Dean, Jomo Williams, Jennifer Houston, Dionne Houston and a host of nieces and nephews. Charlotte worked in the nursing field for over 20 years and was passionate about affecting the most positive change in people. She was also an entrepreneur, owning and operating several businesses throughout her life. She was co-founder of the non-profit organization Touch Me Not Incorporated, an organization dedicated to caring for women and children of domestic abuse. Charlotte was an accomplished musician, singer/song-writer, choir director, roller skating champion, and dancing champion. She also devoted many years of her life to helping others as a Pastor, marriage counselor, and counselor for abused women and children. Charlotte leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion for others. Charlotte lived by the creed, “never hold on to grudges”. Though she has passed on from Earth to be with the Lord, she will always be remembered by those that love her. Her light will shine brightly for all time. Celebration of Life Services for Charlotte Houston will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 9:00AM. This service will be recorded and streamed live.
