Billy Kennedy

December 8, 1943 - January 14, 2022

Billy Kennedy, 78, of Snellville, GA, passed away on January 14 after a long and fulfilling life journey. Billy was born on December 8th, 1943 to John and Mamie (Dudley) Kennedy in Lagrange, GA. After graduating from East Depot High School in 1961, he relocated to Atlanta, GA. Billy landed a job as a mail handler for the United States Postal Service which launched a thirty-nine-year career. In 1968, he met Yvonne (Conley), and they united in holy matrimony in 1974. From their union were birthed two children, Stephanie (a.k.a. Tamika) and Marcus. After retiring in 2004, Billy spent his time gardening, golfing, and rooting for his favorite sports teams: the Dallas Cowboys, Boston Celtics, Atlanta Falcons and Hawks. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandson. Billy is predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Will, David, Paul, and J.C. (Minnie). He is survived by his former spouse Yvonne Kennedy; his brothers, William and John; his children Stephanie (Derrius)Daise, Marcus Kennedy, Mingnon Dixon and Angelo Dixon; his grandchildren Daja, Darius, Erica, Briean, Angelo; his great-grandson Aiden, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones, and friends.
