    Albert D Frasier

    May 27, 1937 - April 19, 2022

    Albert Douglas Debate Frasier was born on May 27, 1937, in Charleston SC. He had one sister who preceded him to new Life, seven decades ago. He was raised by his Auntie Maybelle (Cokson) as well as several other loving family members. (With fond memories of “Stinny”) He received top academic honors in high school. After graduation from high school, he and his best Friend William Cash decided to make the long trek from Charleston to New York to join the U.S. Army. He did enlist in the Army, joining with a MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) of Radio Operator in 1955. Albert spoke four languages: German, Arabic, Spanish and Vietnamese, each learned from Army Foreign Language school. If you include his native Geechee Gullah he spoke five languages. Albert served tours of duty at various Army stations including, Fort Campbell, KY, Fort Hamilton, NY, Fort Dix, NJ, Fort Bragg, NC, Vietnam (three tours), Munich, Germany, Fort Gillem and Fort McPherson, GA. Albert attended and graduated from Officers Candidate School in 1964 at Fort Benning, GA as a 2nd Lieutenant (he graduated number 3 in his class). Military Service: ● Radio Operator-Maintainer ● Paratrooper (US Army Airborne School) ● US Army Special Forces Green Beret ● Military Forces Special Intelligence Officer ● Officers Candidate School ● Foreign Language School While in the Army, he acquired his BA in Business with a 2nd major in Criminology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Albert retired as a Major from the Army after 23 years of faithful and honorable service in July of 1977. Achievements: Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Air Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Letters of Commendation, Letters of Outstanding Service. Additional Education: Albert graduated from John Marshall School of Law in 1981, he passed the Georgia Bar Exam in 1983. Private Sector Employment: Albert worked for DeKalb County, GA from 1978 to 1999 in the following capacities: ● Juvenile Court: Lead Investigator 1978-1986 ● District Attorney's office under Robert Wilson: Public Defender & Assistant District Attorney 1986-1997 ● Helped turned Dekalb County Judicial System into an exemplary organization Self Employment: Attorney: Active 1994-2005, then retired. Albert is survived by his wife Cam Thi Frasier. Preceding him to new Life is one Child: Beverly A. Stephens Choice. Surviving Children: Beverly E. Frasier Terrell, Anna M. Frasier, Donna L. Frasier Shepherd, Allen T. Frasier and Amvar C. Frasier. Former wife and friend Annie M. Frasier, Former partner and friend Linda Smith. Grandchildren: Douglas Frasier Terrell, Tyia Shine Brown, Kendall J. Choice, Santana C. Terrell, Maya J. Amerson, Amber N. Shepherd, Zoe Frasier, Keira Frasier, Ava Dorce, Aria Frasier and Adonis Frasier. Great Grandchildren: Xavier Brown and Khianna Terrell. Children of former partner Linda Smith: Derrick Lott and Felicia Thomas. Albert also leaves loving family members in Charleston, SC, Langley, SC, Bronx, NY and Jersey City, NJ as well as a host of friends, colleagues and associates; especially his friends of more than six decades, Caesar and Inez Jenkins of Charleston, SC.
