Yvonne Villaroel

Yvonne Villaroel age 82, passed on September 7, 2020. Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Monday, September 14, 2020 at our SOUTH DEKALB CHAPEL via INVITATION ONLY. The Memorial Service will be LIVE Streamed. Ms. Yvonne Villaroel was born on April 24, 1938 in San Juan, Trinidad to Roy and Ruby Lestagez. She was the oldest of twelve children – Vernon, Leon (deceased), Lenora (deceased), Delicia, Wallace, Christine, Lydia, Tony, Wade, Reginald, and Jerry. She met Dennis Villaroel and married on June 5, 1968 in London, England. Yvonne and Dennis relocated to New York where they began their family. Through this union three children were born: Lisa, Sonia, and David. Yvonne was serious and dedicated to higher learning. Through that passion she obtained several degrees and certifications. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Jersey City State College, a certified Mental Health Nurse from Scotland and England, and she also received her nursing degree from The University of the State of New York. Yvonne worked in her field of nursing for over 40 years. She successfully and with pride worked at the following medical facilities in Atlanta, Georgia: Georgia Baptist Hospital, Crawford Long Hospital and Emory Hospital. Yvonne was a family-oriented person. She loved spending time with her family, and she provided for them with complete joy. Yvonne (Mommy) loved to laugh and she was a practical joker. She was very silly in her own way and her laugh was infectious. Mommy was dedicated to hard work to ensure that her kids did not suffer. Although she raised her three kids as a single parent you would have never known by the way she was able to provide for them; she was a strong and phenomenal woman. She leaves a host of family members to love and cherish her memories. Yvonne is survived by her two daughters Lisa and Sonia and one son David (Jackie). She has four grandchildren: Gabrielle, Ashiegh, John, and Christian. She is also survived by six brothers, three sisters, brother and sister-in laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
