Mrs. Wyenna Smith Camp

Wyenna Smith Camp was born on August 5, 1941, in Mansfield, Georgia to the late Mr. Carl and Josie (Roberts) Smith. She was the second oldest of seven daughters, two who proceeded her in death- Evonne Smith and Marie Smith. She entered her eternal rest on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. Wyenna was a strong woman of faith who was baptized at an early age at Rock Spring Baptist Church in Mansfield, GA. She later joined Warren United Method- ist Church in Atlanta, Georgia in fellowship with her husband. Wyenna was educated within the Jasper County School District in Monticello, Georgia. She attended Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN. She returned home to care for her ailing mother. Once her mother was nursed back to health, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she obtained employment at the Army Depot. While working there for about a year, she was united in matrimony to Alphonso Goodrum Camp in 1967. Within that union, they were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Terri Michelle and LaTonia Yvonne. She became employed at Central Electric Products Co., Inc. as a bookkeeper in 1969 after being a stay at home mother for over a year. She retired from there in 2006 after 37 years of dedicated service. During her lifetime, Wyenna not only assisted with the rearing of a few relatives, but also took on the role of a caretaker for many, even until their expiration and hers.....her concern was the well be- ing of her husband and that her girls were okay. Her caring de- meanor was felt by many. She had an extremely deep love for her family and was a genuinely beloved friend. Wyenna's impact was quiet, but massive.... she will truly be missed by all. Wyenna leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 55 years Alphonso Goodrum Camp, her daughters which were her absolute pride and joy, Terri Michelle (Rahman) Camp-Bey, of Atlanta, GA and LaTonia Yvonne Camp of Decatur, GA; four sisters Julia (Archie) Lynch of Mansfield, GA; Delores Elaine Miller, of Durham, NC; Janice Smith of Mansfield, GA; and Elsie Smith Harris of Mansfield, GA; brother in law Howard (Lucille) Camp, of Stafford, VA; Two first cousins that were more like sisters, Rosetta Smith and Mary Joyce Durden of Mansfield, GA; two beloved sec- ond cousins that were more like her children, Bernard (Stephanie) Smith, of Laurel, Maryland and Sherry Smith, of Mansfield, GA; 7 nieces, 6 nephews, 11 great nieces and nephews, her neighborhood grandchildren (Lauren, Isaiah and Jacob Moore); her very dear childhood & lifetime best friend Johnnie Mae (Henry) Fears of Deca- tur, Ga and a host of other family members and friends.
