Woodrow Williams, 88, passed away peacefully on January 10th, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply. A man of unwavering faith, boundless generosity, and a quiet but unmistakable strength, he lived a life rooted in service, gratitude, and joy. Woodrow was born on November 23, 1937, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and would grow into the kind of man whose presence made others feel safe, seen, and supported. His faith was not just something he spoke about—it was something he lived. He embodied the spirit of Galatians 6:9, a scripture he cherished: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season, we shall reap, if we faint not.” Those words shaped the way he treated people, worked, and loved. Family was the heartbeat of his life. He was a devoted husband, survived by his beloved wife, Hattie, and a proud father of Rickie (Kenya), Michael (Paula), Stephanie (Louis), and Alexander (Keiana). His joy multiplied through his grandchildren—Andre, Jazzmin, Theo (Dina), William (Kneisha), Tiffany (Chris), Cameron, and Michal—and his great‑grandchildren, Payton, Mason, Akai, Dallas, Olivia, Austin, and Khristly. The loving brother to his sisters, Roberta, Jessie, Catherine, Christine, Earnestine, and his brother Alexander. Cherished brother-in-law to Viola and Vivian (Archie). He also leaves behind his legacy with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Whether offering wisdom, cracking a perfectly timed joke, or simply showing up with that signature smile, he made every moment with him feel like a blessing. Woodrow had a sense of humor that could lighten any room. He loved to laugh, and he loved to make others laugh even more. His wit was gentle, his timing impeccable, and his ability to find joy in everyday moments was one of the many gifts he shared with those around him. He was a huge sports fan and was willing and ready to get into a sports debate at anytime, anywhere. Service was woven into every chapter of his life. He believed in helping others quietly, faithfully, and without seeking recognition. Whether lending a hand, offering encouragement, or simply being present, he touched countless lives with humility and kindness. His legacy is not only in the family he raised, but in the many people he uplifted along the way.
