Ms. Virginia Elizabeth Easter

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7 Virginia Elizabeth Price, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, teacher, and friend, was born on June 21, 1948, as the third of 13 children, to the late Mr. Clamatis and Willie May Price in Norton, Virginia. On July 13, 2026, God, in His infinite wisdom and divine love, called her home to eternal rest. Virgina was united in holy matrimony to the late Spergess Easter, Sr. To this union, two children were born, Spergess Lawrence Easter, Jr. and Virginia Maria Easter. Together, they shared a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories. She received her high school diploma from John I. Burton High School in Norton, Virginia, where she was the first Black student to graduate. She pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, where she majored in Mathematics Education. Professing her faith and accepting Christ as her Lord and Savior, Virginia was a member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Stonecrest, Georgia, under the leadership of Pastor Jamal Bryant. Virginia was a very outgoing person who loved everyone she met and was loved by all who knew her. She lived her life with joy, creativity, and a genuine love for helping others. She was a talented seamstress who found great pleasure in creating beautiful things with her hands. Her creativity, patience, and attention to detail were reflected in her sewing and the many projects she enjoyed bringing to life. Virginia had a vibrant and active spirit. She loved playing pickleball and enjoyed the energy, fellowship, and fun that came with the game. She also enjoyed line dancing, embracing every opportunity to laugh, move, and enjoy the company of others. For 33 years, Virginia faithfully served as an educator in Henrico County, Virginia; Washington County, Virginia; and Monmouth County, New Jersey, touching the lives of countless students through her dedication, compassion, and commitment to teaching. After retiring in 1999, she later relocated to Georgia, where she continued to tutor students and encourage them in their educational pursuits. Through her many talents, interests, and acts of kindness, Virginia brought joy, energy, laughter, and inspiration to the lives of others. Whether she was teaching, sewing, dancing, playing pickleball, tutoring students, or simply spending time with family and friends, she lived life fully and left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, late Mr. Clamatis and Willie May Price; her husband, Spergess Easter Sr.; sisters Jacqueline Cansler, Ramona Price, Phyllis Goode; brothers Clemn Price, Glen Price, Hershel Price, and Phillip Price. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her beloved son, Spergess Lawrence Easter, Jr. (Shelley); her beloved daughter, Virginia Maria Easter; five grandchildren, Caden Easter, Jahzara Easter, Maceo Easter, Savannah Easter and Tariq Easter; three sister, Pauline Brown (Willie) of North Carlonia, Billie Ann Harris of Columbus, GA, Lesha Crocker (Curtis) of Columbus, GA; two brothers, Edward Price of Lexington, KY, Ronnie Price of Baltimore, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, former students, and loved ones. Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. -John 11:25-26
