Vincent Donubari Poromon ( Donu ) It is with broken hearts and immense sorrow that we share the passing of our beloved Vincent Donubari ( Donu )Poromon. Vincent transitioned in tranquility while sleeping on August 9, 2025. He was 72 years of age. Vincent was born January 1, 1953 in Bori, Rivers State, Nigeria Africa. Vincent was the first born son and child of the late Rt. Rev. ( Dr.) J. B. Poromon and Mrs. Bernice Nnenna Poromon. Vincent completed boarding school at The International School, Ibadan. Thereafter, his Parents sent him to study abroad in the USA at SUNY at Brockport, NY. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. As a graduate in biology science, he worked for several companies throughout his life. In naming a few notable ones, Praxis Biologics comes to mind. Vincent made a significant contribution as part of a laboratory team of employees whom helped in facilitating a vaccine for babies and children throughout the world. It still remains a vital vaccine today as it has saved millions of babies and children. ( Meningitis vaccine) Vincent was employed with Bausch and Lomb, Rochester , NY . He was diligent in his knowledge and practice within working in their sterilization laboratories. He enjoyed this meticulous processes employment for numerous years as he was a very thorough and professional employee. Vincent even opened his own Bakery with a business partner and named the business, “ Bernice’s Bakery “, after his dear Mother. Vincent’s last and final career was as a Licensed Practical Nurse, where he became a Dialysis Nurse. He worked both within the University of Rochester and Highland Hospital as well. He finally retired once he injured his shoulders at the Highlands of Brighton in Rochester as an LPN. He was admired dearly by his colleagues, patients, and his supervisors for his dedication, integrity, and strong work ethics. Vincent’s spiritual journey led him to worship and serve as a Deacon at the Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church where he would take his children, Ruth and Lydia to church with him to worship. Vincent leaves behind a legacy of love; immense integrity; lessons and teachings of forgiveness and so much more. He also leaves behind the love of his life, his partner of 24 years, Bernice Crawl-Poromon. They’ve been married for 18 years after 6 years of courtship! He also leaves to cherish his dearest sister Zawalo Felicia Woluchem, all of his brothers ( Aleema, Christopher, Tombari, and Sunny Poromon) Lekien, Menenen and a Special Brother in Christ, Mr. Prince Chinney whom he spoke to nearly every single day without fail! He leaves to cherish the memories of his unconditional love, his daughters, Ruth Yaro ( Abdul) and Lydia Samuel ( Quinton). His infinite love for his three grandchildren is sorrowful as well. He has a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, in-laws, friends and his kind neighbor, Mr. Louis. A life well lived with integrity. Rest well my love… Your ever loving wife, Bernice.
