“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;” Ecclesiastes 3:1 -2 Vickey Charles Terrell was one of eight children and a twin to sister Vera Colleen Redditt born to the parentage of the late Elijah Terrell, Sr. and Doris Mae Terrell, on March 7, 1957, in Refugio, TX. He departed this life on July 10, 2026, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA. In his school years he attended elementary school in Woodsboro, TX. Then in his high school years he attended Sunshine High School in Sunshine, LA where he played basketball and baseball and he was in the Industrial Arts class where he learned to be creative. He graduated in May 1975. Vickey Charles lived in St Gabriel, LA where he met and married his wife Cheryl Terrell of 48 years and they moved to Dallas, TX in August 1977. He worked for Container Graphics Corporation, a Tool and Die company, for 46 years. He was a kind man who would help others. He was an active deacon at Mt Olive Baptist Church of Arlington, TX. He was a member of the men chorus; an usher and he always help in the church. He and his family lived in Texas for eleven years and then in August of 1988 he and his family moved to Georgia. Vickey Charles leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 48 years, Cheryl; and children Anitra Daashon Terrell of Hampton, GA; Victor Charles Terrell, Sr. of Morrow, GA; Arielle LaCher Terrell of Decatur, GA; and Akil Nosakhere Terrell of Conley, GA; grandchildren, Auriyon Smith, Tamiya Smith, Victor Charles Terrell Jr., Sariyah Terrell, and Alani Chanel Ridley. His sister-in- law, Jeanette Terrell of Dallas, TX; siblings, Jacqueline Toliver, of Lufkin, TX; Audrey LaFern Terrell of Detroit, MI; Joanne Moses of Geismar, LA; Vera Colleen Redditt of Gonzales, LA; John Morace (Gloria) Terrell of Dallas, TX; Anthony O’Keith Terrell of San Antonio, TX; brothers-in-laws, Freddie (Betty) Lodge, Alvin Gosserand of Baton Rouge, LA; Darryl Johnson of Atlanta, GA; Kenneth (Cleo) Lodge, Joseph (Stacey) Lodge, Jeff (Jackie) Lodge, sisters-in-law, Marilyn Gosserand, Valencia Nancy Magee, Jacqueline Lodge, godchildren Jeff Lodge and David Luckett, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, co-workers and classmates. Vickey Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah Terrell, Sr., and Doris Mae Terrell, and brother Elijah Terrell, Jr. The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Vickey Charles Terrell will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 1:00 PM.
