Verna Williams

Verna Henrietta Williams was born on 17 September 1956, in Upper Prickley Pear Alley, Basseterre, St.Kitts to Vivienne Woodley and Edmund Crossman. Verna and her family moved to St. Thomas in 1981 and then migrated to the state of Georgia in 1992 where she resided in Clarkston and then Decatur. Verna truly loved life and enjoyed traveling even more. She had a rotation between St. Kitts, St. Thomas, New York and Miami annually to participate in Carnival. She had a smile that instantly made people happy and a laugh that often resulted in her crying tears of joy. She loved talking on the phone and shopping at every opportunity. Verna often said what was on her mind, she was stern, yet you knew that she loved you unconditionally. She is survived by her sisters and brothers: Melrose Solomon, Alphonso Carty, Selwyn Joseph, Leroy Joseph Loretta Warner Rudolph Woodley, Edmund Woodley (Deceased) Ingrid Woodley, and Stanley Woodley. Her best friend and adopted sister is Avril "Quidd" Beach. Verna loved her children, they were her pride and joy: Jevon Williams (Meosha Hall-Williams), Calvin Williams (Deceased), Jerwin Williams, Marlon Williams, Elisha Williams, Jamila Allen (Delandrius Allen), and Nahkeem Woodley who she helped raise. She is the grandmother to several grandsons and granddaughters and great grandchildren: Ezekiel Hall, Malik Cook, Jevontavious Hall, Jiquan Hall, Chase Williams, A’mari Williams, Levi Williams and Cornelius Sewell. Granddaughters: Precious Williams (Deceased), Jimya Williams, Meyana Williams, Melanie Williams, Sevyn Williams and Leilani Williams. Verna is also the beloved aunt to several nieces and nephews. Throughout her life Verna had the pleasure of assisting with raising several members of her immediate family. Angels came on Monday, November 14th ,2022 and carried Verna home where her parents, brother, son and granddaughter will meet her. Verna will always be loved and cherished as a pillar in the family. Celebration of Life Services for Verna Williams will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM. These services will be recorded and streamed live.
