Trey Lewin

Trey Lewin was born on September 9th, 2003 in Newark, New Jersey to mother Lisa Williams-Lewin and father Raymond Lewin. Trey was born after older siblings Daniel and Naomi, earning him the name Trey. At the age of seven he and his family moved from Jersey to Gwinnett County, Georgia where he would spend his young adult years. It would be during these years that not only his teachers and classmates would be drawn to his easy-going and gentle nature, but really anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. As he continued to grow, Trey developed a love for video-games and it was through this passion that he met his best friends or “homies” Skye, Tyler and Louie. Throughout their friendship, they bonded over their shared interests like games, anime, music, and common teenage experiences. Trey would go on to spend most of his nights falling asleep, game controller in hand, while talking to his friends on FaceTime. Let’s just say that for Trey, game was life. Trey attended Mountain View High School, where he played football and basketball. This interest in sports led him to become a big fan of basketball, and an even bigger fan of Lebron James. He became so fascinated with the sport that he would constantly get into debates over who was the best player of all time. He even made a point to not only watch highlights of previous games, but he would read up on game and player stats as well. Outside of video games and basketball, Trey’s other favorite thing to do was spend time with his family. At home, Trey would often unwind with his older sister Naomi. It was common for them to spend time in each other’s room watching YouTube videos of their favorite creators like Cory Kenshin. His favorite person to goof around with was his mother, Lisa. They would “roast” each other back and forth until they could not stop laughing as the sound bellowed through the house. When he was not with these two, you could find him with his older brother Daniel. He and Daniel shared a love of learning, as Daniel taught him a plethora of skills from how to ride a bike to how to change a tire. Trey lived his life humbly and authentically. All he ever dreamed of doing was going to college, becoming a fire fighter, and having a loving family. He valued family, his meaningful friendships, and living a life he was proud of. He was the true definition of a gentle giant and the sheer size of the space he took up in the hearts of those who knew and loved him could never be filled by another. Though he may not physically be here with us anymore, his memories will live on through his parents, Lisa Williams-Lewin and Raymond Lewin, his bother Daniel Williams, his sister Naomi Williams, his family, and his dear friends. Celebration of Life Services for Trey Lewen will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 1:00PM. These services will be recorded and streamed live.
