Thomas Phillips, Jr.

Thomas Phillips Jr, a devoted Husband, Father, PawPaw and Man of God was born in Griffin, GA on October 22, 1954 to Thomas Phillips Sr and Sarah Frances Phillips. As a young man, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Griffin, GA. Thomas purposed throughout his entire life to always be a true representation of Jesus Christ in all aspects of his life. Loved my many, respected by all, and full of wisdom like none other, he led a life of compassion, truly having a heart for the Lord. As a high school scholar, he graduated from Griffin High School in 1972 with a full scholarship to the prestigious university of Notre Dame, but decided to join the United States Marine Corps, where he served his country learning to fly military aircraft and engaging in occupational specialities. After serving his county, Thomas was employed by the United States Postal Service for almost 40 years. Thomas was a very dedicated Postal Employee who loved his job. Thomas was married to the Love of his life Colleen and they enjoyed 40 blissful years of Kingdom marriage. They were not just spouses but best friends, lovers and each other’s support system. There was not a day that went by that Thomas and Colleen were not together enjoying the beautiful life that God gave them. They prayed and worshipped together, always making Christ the Head of their union. From their blessed union came 5 beautiful children: Teresa, Tammerra, Sherita, Natasha and Antonio (Mildred). In addition to their grandchildren who brought them continuous joy, Stenedria, Treshawn, Jontavis, Derrick, Christian, Teniya, Demetrius Jr., Colleen, Michael Jr., Jaylin,Autumn and Kiara. Thomas also leaves to cherish his one any only sister Pansy Elaine Hines(George), Father-in-Law, Harry Hilton, Brother in laws, Harrison Hilton (Theresa), Carl Hilton ( Gwen), and one Sister in Law, Sharon Jenkins (Angelo), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and associates. Thomas was a dedicated member of The RockHill church under the anointed leadership of Dr. Sonnie and First Lady Annie Badu, where he was faithful and proud member. After a beautiful, fulfilling life Thomas stepped into eternal glory with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 25,2026. He is preceded in death by his Father, Thomas Phillips Sr and Mother, Sarah Frances Phillips, as well as Mother-in-Law, Shirley Connie Hilton. A life well lived, we will always carry the many memories of Thomas in our hearts.
