Terrance Addison

Terrance Addison, son of Johnnie Washington and the late Joseph Addison was born September 2,1963, in Savannah, Georgia. He departed this life on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in Clayton County. He started his formal education in the public school system of Dekalb County. After high school, he joined the US Navy, where he retired after years of service. Terrance always put the needs of others ahead of his self and was always willing to help take care of anyone. He dearly loved his family and friends. He was truly a loving, giving and caring person. He was grateful to God for his family for his many, many special friends and all of the blessings that he received. Even in sickness, Terrance was still grateful and thank God every day for his goodness and his mercy. In addition to his mother, Johnnie Washington, he was preceded in death by histhree sisters, Lesa Addison, Comsey Addison, Delancy Donoven; two brothers, Ervin Polite and Lee Polite; one sister-in-law, April Polite. He also leaves to cherish his memory his girlfriend Monica Ruiz. In addition he had several nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Along with his family, he would be truly missed by his best friend, Anthony Wilson; friends, Terry, Hugh Sawyer, and Beverly Smith; and a host of other family and friends. A message from Terrance to all my loved ones: Sorry, I had to leave in a sudden kind of way but my friend Jesus just needed me more. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at Rainbow Park Baptist Church in Decatur, Georgia, on Thursday, February 6th, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held in Terrance’s honor at Hillcrest Church of Christ in Decatur, GA, on Friday, February 7th, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. Following the service, the military honors interment will take place at Hillandale Memorial Gardens in Lithonia, GA, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm. The family invites those in attendance to join them for a repast at Hillcrest Church of Christ from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, where they can share memories and celebrate a life well-lived. Terrance Addison’s legacy of love, leadership, and commitment to others will remain in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in peace.
