Terence Thomas

Terence Lamar Daniel Thomas was born in Shelby, Mississippi on November 20, 1971, to the late Willie Daniel-Darnell (DD) Crockett and the late Alpha Reen Thomas Versaint. He enjoyed a wonderful, boisterous, “country boy” childhood in Mound Bayou, Mississippi. There he attended elementary, junior high and high school. He was a member of John F Kennedy high school’s marching band and enjoyed the musicianship and camaraderie of his life-long friends. After high school, he relocated to South Florida. There, he would create new lifelong friends and found employment in the hospitality/tourism industry. His hobbies included playing basketball at the local parks and spending time at the beach and local attractions. While residing in Florida, he fathered two children, a daughter, Mya and a son, TJ. In early 2008 after the passing of their mother Alpha, Terence and his brother Jeremy moved to the Atlanta area where he would remain until his passing. A sports fanatic, Terence spent endless hours enjoying numerous games and matches. The NFL, NBA, NCAA College Football, and WWE were his absolute obsession, and he could give you any stat on any team, player, or wrestler. His favorite teams were the Michigan Wolverines, Miami Dolphins, and the Miami Heat. As a diehard sports fan he thoroughly enjoyed every aspect and feature of sporting events including trash talk and listening to Sports Center incessantly on ESPN. Though most of his life he dealt with a chronic disease that altered his life's course, took a toll on his body, and eliminated most of his independence, he was the personification of the indomitable human spirit and fought long and hard to live. A kind soul who embodied the phrase “live, love, laugh” Terence will be sorely missed. May his memory be a blessing. He leaves to celebrate his life his two children, Mya Thomas and TJ Thomas; three siblings, Allisha Crockett, Willie Crockett, Jr and Kenneth-Paul Jeremy Thomas; sister cousins, Regis Jones, Erin Wilson, and Ursula Britt; aunts Brenda Wilson, Patricia Jordan, Aidleen Stidum, Angela Bady, and Deborah Bady; uncles, Melvis Gant, Marion Jones, Derrick Bady, Jimmie Bady, Jr. and Keenan Bady along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
