Tamara Racquel Tuitt-Bartlett

A Life of Strength, Service, and Love of a Phenomenal Woman Tamara Racquel Tuitt-Bartlett, affectionately known by her family as “Tammy,” was born on June 24, 1976, in Miami, Florida, to Sarah Virginia Martin and Larry Emanuel Ross. From the very beginning, Tammy was full of energy, laughter, and a natural curiosity that lit up every room she entered. Tamara’s early education began at Buena Vista Elementary School in Miami, continued at Lake Stevens Middle School in Miami Gardens, and culminated with her proud graduation from Carol City High School. Even as a young girl, she aspired to become a detective, a dream that reflected her deep curiosity, strong sense of justice, and unwavering determination. She pursued that calling by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Johnson & Wales University in Miami. Tammy’s greatest joy in life was her family. She welcomed her first son, Stephon, and later met and married the love of her life, the late Richard Bartlett, Jr. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and purpose. Their union was blessed with two wonderful sons, the late Richard Bartlett III and Jared, in Miami, and in 2009, their youngest son, Jaeden, arrived to complete their beautiful family. Tammy’s devotion to her children knew no bounds; she took immense pride in raising her four sons with love, respect, and integrity. In 2002, Tamara and her family relocated to Georgia, where she pursued her passion for public service. She joined the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office, where she honorably served as a Master Deputy Sheriff for approximately 20 years. Tamara was deeply committed to her work, respected by her peers, and admired for her courage, compassion, and professionalism. She took great pride in serving her community, protecting others, and standing up for those who could not stand up for themselves. Outside of work, Tammy was the heartbeat of every gathering. She loved traveling, spending time with friends, and visiting family across Florida, New York, and California. Her laughter was infectious, her hugs were comforting, and her radiant spirit had a way of making everyone feel seen, valued, and loved. Tamara spoke her mind, but always from a place of love and honesty. People knew where they stood with her, and they cherished her for it. Her kindness, strength, and unapologetic presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Tamara’s life was one of purpose, love, and light. Though her time here was far too short, her legacy lives on through her sons, her family, her friends, and the countless lives she touched. She will forever be remembered for her courage, her laughter, her loyalty, and the warmth and compassion she shared so freely with everyone. Tamara is survived by her sons Stephon Tuitt and daughter-in-law Brittany Tuitt, Jared Bartlett, and Jaeden Bartlett (Predeceased by her beloved son, Richard Bartlett III). Mother: Sarah Virginia (Gina) Martin. Grandchildren: Payne, Solomon, Gwendolyn and Blair Tuitt. Siblings: Lorna Kirwan, Rhodri Kirwan, and Ava Kirwan. Nieces & Nephews: Akeisha Bowles, Antoinette Bennett, Rihanna, Raquel and Rachael Kirwan, and Kamara Crumpton. Aunts & Uncles: Glendora (Glen) Kirwan-Reeth, Helena Kirwan, Stedmon (Charles) Kirwan, Dennis Reeth (Uncle-in-law). Cousins: Dave (B.K.)
