Stanley Bissoon

Stanley Bissoon was born on August 11 th ,1962 to Clarence and Ena Bissoon (deceased) on the beautiful Twin Isles of Trinidad and Tobago. He was the 8 th of 9 children, and was given the nickname of Stan by his mother. He attended Fyzabad Presbyterian School, Siparia Junior Sec, and Fyzabad Senior Comprehensive school for his early education. Stanley was a jack of all trades. In his youth, he worked on the oil rigs, asa security guard, an electrician, and owned and operated his own Maxi Taxi in Trinidad. Stanley, however, was known for his expertise in the field of construction as a handyman and painter. Stanley accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at the age of 14 years old and went on to share The Word with anyone he could. He became a youth leader and enjoyed singing and playing the guitar in church. Stanley then migrated to the U.S. with his family in 1996. He resided in Brooklyn, NY and later Decatur, GA until his passing. Stanley was a generous and selfless person and the definition of extravert. He enjoyed being in the company of others, especially with his older ladies. There was nothing he wouldn’t do or was not willing to do for anyone who needed his assistance. He was an advocate for anyone he thought was being unfairly treated or at ab disadvantage.Stanley did not believe in placing emphasis on material things. He would give his last even if he couldn’t afford it and truly valued his friendships and loved ones. He loved music, especially gospel, old school R&B, let’s not forget Reggae and man could he eat. That man really loved his belly. His favorite pass times would be watching movies, surfing youtube videos, facetime with MJ and Jax, playing cards with his family in competitive All fours and spending time with the grandbabies. Those who will carry on his legacy are his loving wife Christine Bissoon, affectionately known a (Baby Girl). They met at the age of 14, married for 39 years, and been together for 46 years. Throughout the duration of their union, they had a total of five children which includes Crystal Canniegieter(CJ) , Ryan Bissoon(Ree), Nigel Bissoon(Gel)Deceased, Christie-Ann Bissoon(Mouse) and Josh Bissoon (Jayo). Father-in-law of Tonya Bellamy- Bissoon (Doc) and John Canniegieter(Jr). Grandfather of Jakiah, Crystina, Andy aka the munchkins, Mackenzie(sunshine), Jackson(Jax) and Caria(Sue-Ann). Siblings are Edith Wilson, Florence Martin(deceased), Lawrence Bissoon, Carl Bissoon, Arthur Bissoon, Ramish (Jerry) Bissoon(deceased), Linda Mountjoy and Roger Bissoon. In laws -David Wilson(deceased), Davidson(Roy) Martin (deceased),Joan Bissoon, Minerva Bissoon, Zolena Bissoon, Sharma Bissoon, Paul Mountjoy and Marlene Bissoon. In Laws-Albie James, Carlyle Joseph, Ben Joseph, Leroy and Christine Chase, Judith and Winthrop James. Uncle to Kathy, Sheldon, Tricia, Reuel, Jinette, Rachel, Joel and many many more. Pops to Edward, Hagos, Tatiana, Tiffany, Stevein and many many more. Adpoted son of Hermine Sharpe, JC Smith, Johnnie Jacobs and Gloria Samuel. Ying, Yellows, Stan, Trini, Pops, Uncle stan, Poppa Bissoon, D-day, Grumpa and ole man, as he was affectionally called by friends and family, will always be remembered for his witty comebacks, smart mouth, big smile, always joking, always ready to help and down for whatever attitude. One thing we know for sure he loved his family and friends with all he had, and there is no question that he was loved back immensely. He also leaves to mourn his church families @ Ebenezer Chapel(Trinidad), Bethesda Healing Center(Bklyn,New York) and Higher Calling Ministries(Decatur, GA)
