Ms. Shavon Latrice Toombs, 46 of Stone Mountain, GA passed on December 24, 2024. Shavon Latrice Toombs, 46, was born on August 25, 1978, in Atlanta, Georgia, to her parents, Fealice and George Toombs. She passed away on December 24, 2024, at home, surrounded by her loved ones. Shavon was educated at Decatur High School and graduated in October 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Phoenix. She was the proud mother of three wonderful children: two daughters, Chaunda Henry and Sikari Henry, and a son, Joseph Lahai. Shavon dearly loved her kids and always supported their dreams, ensuring they were well cared for. She enjoyed planning trips with her family to create memorable moments together. Throughout her life, Shavon was a creative soul at heart, deeply passionate about writing. In 2014, she decided to pursue her dreams of writing again and began attending poetry events in Atlanta. Inspired by the poetry community, she created her spoken word show called the Reflective Soul Series. This platform allowed poets, writers, and artists to express themselves on stage and embrace their true identities. Shavon inspired the poetry community and opened doors of opportunity for many to perform at her events. The Reflective Soul Series grew significantly each year, supported by the community she cultivated along the way. Her spoken word event ran from 2014 until March 2020. Shavon's career was in healthcare. She began working at Emory Midtown in 1997 in customer service. Later, she began working for Dekalb Medical Hillandale in 2001, and when the hospital opened in 2005, she became the supervisor of emergency services. By 2022, she had advanced to managing both emergency and outpatient services. Throughout her leadership, she inspired many through her mentorship, encouraging words, and vision. Shavon was a beacon of kindness, generosity, and compassion. Her willingness to go above and beyond, along with her memorable laugh and positive energy, brightened the days of those around her and left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of working with her. She will be missed by all who knew her. Shavon is survived by her three children: Sikari J. Henry, Chaunda L. Henry, and Joseph E. Lahai; her mother, Fealice Toombs; her father, George Toombs; her sister, Sharon Coronel; her brothers, DeAngelo Toombs and Cedric Toombs; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
