Mrs. Sharon Elizabeth Reynolds

Sharon Elizabeth Reynolds, affectionately known by her family as “Mom Mom,” was born on April 28, 1945, in Newark, New Jersey. She grew up in Gowanus Projects and was educated in the Brooklyn public school system. She was a graduate of Bayridge High School and later attended Hunter Business School. After graduation, Sharon started her career with The New York Telephone Company, later known as AT&T, where she worked for many years as a customer service manager. During her twenty-one-year tenure, she met her husband George “Buddy” Reynolds. Sharon and Buddy were later married in August of 1968. They welcomed their first son, Sean, in 1969, and ten years after that, their second son, Aaron, was born. A few years later in 1982, Buddy became terminally ill and passed away the following year. After the death of Buddy, Sharon returned to the workforce and obtained a job with United Cerebral Palsy. Shortly after, Sharon relocated to Newark, Delaware, with her sons and lived there for a few years. Eventually she moved back to New York where she started working for Overseas Military Car Sales. She retired from there in 2006 and moved to Snellville, Georgia. Sharon enjoyed cooking her family’s favorite dishes, online shopping, and watching her favorite shows on television. She adored the time spent with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandson. Joking around, having a good laugh, and teasing everyone were her favorite pastimes. On Tuesday afternoon, August 23, 2022, Sharon was called to rest and was met and welcomed at the gates of Heaven by her husband, Buddy Reynolds; parents, Hazel and Thomas Marbury, Sr.; siblings, John Albert, Junie, and Gary Sr.; and brother-in-law, Tyrone Williams. The legacy of Sharon’s life will be forever cherished by: her two sons, Sean and Aaron; daughters-in-law, Shirley and Lawana; grandchildren, Sean Jr. (Jessica), Shane, Aaron Jr., Sydnee, and Ariana; great-grandson, Jeramiah; sister, Terry Williams; uncle, Robert Marbury; sisters-in-law, Hannah Marbury, Diane Marbury; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, and countless.
