Sharon Juanita Frinks

S haron Juanita Frinks, born on August 4, 1947, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, was a kind gentle soul and a mother to many. She was one of four siblings born to Isaac and Felicia Frinks. Her early education took place at Christ the King Catholic School, and she later graduated from Wilkinson High School. Sharon’s spiritual foundation was laid at Macedonia Baptist Church in Orangeburg, South Carolina, where her enduring values and faith were instilled and her personal relationship with the Most High God grew. Sharon spent her final years in Atlanta, Georgia, where she expanded in faith and service at Mount Paran Church. Upon graduating from high school, Sharon furthered her education at Claflin University, obtaining a bachelor’s degree. She went on to earn a master’s degree in secondary education from the University of South Carolina in 1977. Her educational career spanned 40 years. Her love for children and learning led Sharon to serve as an educator in the public school system. She spent thirty years in the public school system of Orangeburg, South Carolina, and ten years in Atlanta, Georgia’s school system, both as a teacher and assistant principal. During her time in South Carolina, Sharon was hired to head up the freshman college at Claflin College, where her vision was to improve the retention rate of freshman students. Her love and care for students have been displayed, appreciated and applauded throughout the years. At her core, Sharon was a beacon of generosity, graciously extending herself for the selfless benefit of others. Over the years, many echoed moments where Sharon’s giving heart was on full display in their lives. Giving hugs, giving compliments, giving wisdom, giving time spent, giving money to help you along the way, and giving love. She was in essence a giver of good things. For many, Sharon’s smile alone impacted their lives. Her radiant but calm spirit filled every room she walked into and her unwavering joy was a reflection of her connection with the Most High. Sharon’s cherished memory lives on through her beloved family: her son, T. Andrew Frinks, M.D., alongside his wife, Yolanda Michelle and their three children, Andrew Londen, Ariana Michelle, and Alana Michelle of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Katina W. Wise “Nikki” and her three children, Kaviana (Emanuel) Holmes, Kwyliq Wise-Hale, Kylon Boyles of Atlanta, GA; her sister, Ileen (Earl) F. Rogers of Mint Hill, NC; as well as a circle of dearly loved nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends These services will be recorded and streamed live.
