Rosie Eudora Bacon

Mother Rosie Eudora Bacon (Dora) was born on March 7, 1936 in Dawson, GA toEugene and Estelle Salter (deceased). She was the second child of ten children. Sheattended public schools in Dawson where she graduated from Carver High School in1955. She left Dawson and went north to New Jersey, where she met and married JohnBacon Sr. they enjoyed 43 years of matrimony, until his death in 2002.They raised their 4 children to be God-fearing, where they all became members of WhiteRock Baptist Church (Linden, NJ), in their youth.Mother Bacon was invited to attend a singing concert at Morning Star United HolinessChurch (Linden, NJ) in mid-70, where she gave her life to the Lord. Immediatelyfollowing her conversion she moved her membership and began to work diligently in andoutside of the church. Her children joined Morning Star and began working alongsidetheir mother. Rosie and John moved to Stone Mountain in June 1993, and she became amember of Stronghold Christian Church, Lithonia, GA in 1994. She worked for manyyears as Mother of the church, serving as Chair of the Mothers Board, and in other areaswhere needed.Rosie worked tirelessly, from the time she was a child on the family farm, up until sheretired from General Motors Assembly Division in Linden, NJ. She was a strong womanand a very devoted worker in the home and in her personal work experience. Shedisplayed immense love to her immediate and extended family members, and she touchmany lives during her journey with her words of wisdom and her beautiful smile.She was pre-deceased by her youngest son Vincent Bacon and her sister Marian Salter in1992.She leaves to continue her legacy; sons, Herbert Bacon, John Bacon Jr.(Sheila), daughterAndrea Bacon; grandchildren, Jareed, Quianna, Brian, Jacinta, Eboni, Xavier, Bria andTyler; two great-grandchildren, Jacalyn and Jaylen (Eboni), four sisters; Annie Gray(Gerald-deceased), Betty Harris (Richard Sr.), Mary Salter and Ernestine Carmack(Walter) and four brothers; Jefferson ??Buster?? Salter, Eugene ??Sonny?? Salter (Nancy),Howard Salter (Lujean ??Bay-bay??) and Ellis Salter; and a host of nephews, nieces,cousins, friends and church family.
