Ms. Rosalind Earilla Jordan

Rosalind Earilla Bramble was born on October 20th, 1936, in St. John, Montserrat, in the West Indies. She was the youngest daughter of Richard and Catherine Bramble - affectionately known in their community as “Daddy Bramble” and “Aunt Cat” - and she was the cherished baby sister of Dorothy, who was just thirteen months older. At the age of ten, Rosalind emigrated with her family to Boston, Massachusetts. She was raised in Emmanuel Temple Pentecostal Church, a place that shaped her faith, her friendships, and a rich sense of community throughout her life. It was there that she met Alfred Jordan, (the son of the pastor, Bishop Percival Jordan and Clarice Jordan). At the age of nineteen, Rosalind married Alfred in 1956, and from their union came three children: daughters Tulani and Valerie, and son, Stephen. Rosalind was an artist and entrepreneur at heart, drawn to beauty, form, and precision. After graduating from the New England School of Fashion Design, she co-founded a tailor shop, and later became the sole owner of Rosalind’s Boutique. As a master tailor, she produced finely tailored men’s suits, professional costumes for local entertainers, custom garments for women, and a distinctive line of women’s hats - each piece reflecting her skill, care, and creative eye. Following her 40 year career in tailoring, Rosalind launched a summer business, producing and selling frozen ice desserts throughout the community - at local parks and festivals. For nearly twenty-five years, she became a familiar and fondly anticipated presence during Boston’s hot and humid summers, remembered not only for her treats, but for her warmth and friendliness. In late 2019, Rosalind moved to Georgia to live with her daughter’s family. Here, she committed herself to a new diet, and a walking routine of nearly one mile, 7 days a week, which substantially strengthened both her mind and body. However, over three years later, a fall significantly limited her mobility, and she resided in a skilled nursing facility thereafter. She departed this life peacefully on February 21st, 2026, in the presence of family. At age 89, Rosalind was among the oldest living members of Emmanuel Temple. She deeply valued her church family, and held them close in her heart, remaining appreciative for their love and care, long after she moved to Georgia. Rosalind was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Lindsey, and her parents, Richard and Catherine Bramble. She leaves to cherish her memory, her former spouse, Alfred Jordan; daughters Tulani Kinard and Valerie Jordan; son Stephen Jordan; daughters-in-law Kristin Jordan and Joy Thompson; grandchildren Sakeenah Kinard, Alade Kinard, Kori Thompson, Jordan Thompson, and Veronica Thompson; great-grandchildren Ifalola Adesola and Bashir Kinard; her closest friend and cousin, Cecilia Molyneaux; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. -With the deepest love and respect, The Jordan Family Celebration of Life Services (LIVESTREAM) https://vimeo.com/event/5766395 will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 9:00 AM at our Gwinnett Chapel, 914 Scenic Hwy Lawrenceville, GA 30045.
