Robert H Bohannon

Mr. Robert Henry Bohannon was born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 25, 1941 to the late Sanders and Mary Ella Moody Bohannon. He was the youngest of twelve children. After graduating from Luther Judson Price High School in 1959, Robert served in the US Marine Corp as an Infantry Rifleman, the foundation of the infantry organization. Following his military service, Robert entered civilian life and continued to serve in foundational roles with the Federal Government, transportation, and automotive industries. Robert capped off his career by retiring with 31 years of dedicated service to General Motors. Robert enjoyed carpentry work and cheering on the Atlanta Falcons. Both interests were evident when you entered his home. There was nothing he could not fix either with his hands or with his smile! Robert also loved to celebrate his friends and family in his home and tailgating for the Falcons. Loved-ones could always count a perfectly-timed “Power to the People”! Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers - JD Bohannon, Grady Bohannon Robinson, Leroy Bohannon; his sisters – Tommie Lou Bohannon, Lillyman Bohannon Carthan, Edna Bohannon Powell, Minnie Bohannon, Thelma Bohannon Freeman, Mattie Lee Bohannon, Mary Lee Bohannon Amey, Ruby Jean Bohannon Blair; and his grandchildren - Devin Bohannon and Candace Bohannon. Robert transitioned into eternal rest on October 4, 2020 at his home at the age of 79. He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 33 years, Veronica Bohannon; his sons Darryl Bohannon (Vanessa), Kenneth Bohannon (Tia), Shawn Bohannon (Sherita Shelby), and Bryant Bohannon (Oneka Dos Santos); his brother-in-law, Wilbert Harris; his sisters-in-laws, Meshall Harris and Sharon Mason(Leon); his grandchildren, Sabrina Bohannon Harrington, Nicolas Bohannon, Shawn Bohannon Jr., Donovan Bohannon, Ryan Bohannon, Gabrielle Bohannon, and Amir Bohannon; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Celebration of Life Services for Mr.Bohannon will be held at 11:00AM Friday, October 16, 2020 at Gregory B. Levett & Sons Funeral Home. Attendance is by INVITATION only. Mr.Bohannon will be laid to rest at Georgia National Cemetery 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr. Canton ,Ga 30114. Visitation will be held 6:00PM-8:00PM Thursday, October 15, 2020 at our SOUTH DEKALB Chapel.
