Rita Sampson

Rita Sampson, a beloved mother, friend, and dedicated professional, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on November 17, 1950, in Warner Robins, Georgia, Rita touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness throughout her journey. She graduated high school at Warner Robins high school, and then Graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Business in Warner Robins, GA. Rita devoted many years of her life as a Financial Counselor at Grady Health System for over 30 years, where she was known for her deep commitment to helping others and her expertise in navigating the complexities of healthcare finance. She is survived by her two sons: Collins McGhee III (McDonough, GA), and Erick M. McGhee (Morrow, GA), daughter in law DeAndra McGhee (McDonough, GA), two brothers, Eastico (Atlanta, GA) and Hogan Culbreath (Atlanta, GA) one sister; Massie Moore (Atlanta,GA). She is also survived by her two brothers, Sebastian Sampson (Warner Robins,GA) and Clinton Sampson (Rome GA), Sister in Law Evelyn (Atlanta,GA), 11 Grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her son Christopher J. Harris. Also preceding her in death were her five sisters: Jessie Mae Culbreath, Massie B. Culbreath, Catherine Culbreath, Goldie Mae Culbreath, Joan Wallace; and five brothers: William Culbreath, Nathaniel Culbreath, Charles Biggs, Jim Biggs, and Gilbert Biggs. A memorial service celebrating Rita's life will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Rainbow Park Baptist Church 2941 Columbia Drive, Decatur, Georgia, 30034 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
