Mr. & Mrs. Richard & Annie Martin

Mr. Richard Louis Martin was born March 27, 1949, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Wille Martin, Sr. and Mattie Jefferson Martin. He joined the United States Army July 22, 1968, where he served his country faithfully in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in July 1971, after serving his country well. He later met and married the late Annie Carol Jackson and enjoyed the company of her love for 47 years. He departed this life May 10, 2020. God saw Annie’s heartbreak after Richard departed. Inseparable, five days later, God saw fit to bring Annie home as well, therefore, she didn’t have to mourn long. Richard was a retiree of GSA and Quest diagnostics. The epitome of a Godly man, husband, father, son, brother, uncle and cousin. A kind and loving caretaker. And to all, a friend and confidant. A heart of gold that will surely be missed but will live on in our hearts forever. Richard leaves to cherish his loving memories, his children: Serrita (Michael) Warner, Cedric A. Martin, and Roderick D. Martin; siblings: Willie J. Martin Jr., James L. Martin, Gloria Jackson, Helen (John) Cummings; brother-in-law, Ronny Jackson, Sr.; seven grandchildren: Deanna Martin, Keshona Fletcher, Keyon Fletcher, Kyla Allen- Martin, Yolanda Martin, Gabriel Warner, Tatiana Martin; great-grandson, Tristen Martin and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Annie Carol Martin was born August 4, 1950, in Ozark, Alabama to the late Mr. Oliver Jackson and Josie Lee Thomas. She attended D. A. Smith High School and moved to Atlanta, GA in 1968 where she later met and married the late Richard Louis Martin. Her dear husband of 47 years departed this earthly life on May 10, 2020, and, inseparable, God saw her heartbreak and she went home to be with the Lord five days later, May 15, 2020, so she didn’t have to mourn long. Annie retired from St. Phillip AME Church as a child Development Teacher after 28 years of faithful service. Annie was the personification of a Godly woman, wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and cousin. A kind and loving caretaker. And to all, a friend and confidant. A heart of gold that will surely be missed but will live on in our hearts forever. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Gladys McLeod. She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her children: Serrita (Michael) Warner, Cedric A. Martin, and Roderick D. Martin; siblings: Rose Jackson and Edna Jackson, of Atlanta, GA, Mary Jackson, Mattie Jackson, and Willie (Barbara) Charles of Dolthan, Alabama, Willie J. Martin, Jr., James L. Martin, Gloria Jackson, Helen (John) Cummings; brothers-in-law: John Lee McLeod, Willie Martin, Jr., James Martin, Ronny Jackson, Sr.; sisters-in-law: Gloria Jackson and Helen (John) Cummings; favorite aunt: Mary Thomas of Ozark, Alabama; seven grandchildren: Deanna Martin, Keshona Fletcher, Keyon Fletcher, Kyla Allen-Martin, Yolanda Martin, Gabriel Warner, Tatiana Martin; great-grandson: Tristen Martin and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
